  1. But UT-Austin usually notifies those on the wait list.
  2. I hope so, but the case is that I have never been wait-listed by them, and they sent out all the rejection letters after April 15. Anyway, thank you very much for the helpful reply.
  3. On April 20th, I received a rejection letter from UT-Austin via email. I don't have any idea why did their department sent the rejection letter out at such a late time. Though I know UT-Austin is always one of the latest universities to send out the rejection letter (I found this result on http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=philosophy+austin&t=a&o=&pp=25),April 20th is too late. I applied to 20 programs this application season. I got my first result on Febraury 17th (it was a rejection), and got my last but one result on March 31th (it was an acceptance). It seems that the philosophy program at UT-Austin has a significantly low efficiency relative to other programs. And I wonder is it permissible for a program to let their applicants know the final results after April 15th?
  4. If I were you, I will choose BC. Because I think that the match between the program and AOI is very important. That is why I turned down school A for school B, though school A has a better overall strength and funding package.
  5. I have been admitted into Memphis and Tulane this year (both are PhD acceptances), but got no funding from them. It seems that almost half of their admitted students get absolutely no funding, so I'm strongly against applying there. Anyway, PM is welcome.
  6. But some programs require a higher score for TA.
  7. Yeah, I will keep waiting until the last minute. Thank you!
  8. Yeah, feel really hopeless after being wait listed for funding at many universities.
  9. I just got an updated news from him. He said that last year the person ranked 7th on the waiting list got the TA package finally. While the year before last year, the 7th guy didn't make it. In addition, he said that my chance is about 50%. Anyway, all I can do is waiting. Thank you for your concern!
  10. Yes, they only provide five TA packages. And 7th is my initial ranking in the waiting list for funding. So my overall ranking is 12th, I mean there are five people with TA packages and six people in the waiting list for funding before me. The DGS told me that one person has accepted the funded offer. So only if seven or more of these people (in fact, ten people) who haven't made their decisions decline their offers, I can get a TA package.
  11. I'm 7th on the wait list for funding at the University of Houston (it's my first choice). It seems that my chance is very low. Is there anyone plan to decline a funded offer or wait list from there? Thanks!
  12. A top-5 MA program is amazing. It must has a very good placement to PhD program. So I think taking the MA will be better. Though it's somewhat risky.
  13. I think Central European University is a nice choice for you.
  14. Thanks! It's so nice of you. Good luck!
  15. Thank you. It was about 14 hours ago.
  16. Accepted into Tulane, but wait-listed for funding. Any idea on its program? And is there anyone planning to decline a funded offer from there?

  18. Accepted into SUNY-Buffalo's MA program. Any idea on its placement? Thanks!

  20. Accepted into the M.A. program at Syracuse. I know Syracuse doesn't have a good terminal M.A. program. I wonder is it worthy to attend it. I will reapply to Ph.D. programs in the second year. Anyone know anything concerning its M.A. placement?
  21. Thank you. But this is a link of the placement of PhD students rather than MA students.
  22. In fact, I have already checked it, but it almost says nothing on Syracuse's MA program. Anyway, thank you very much.
