  1. What if they pay for your visit before you turn in your application and it's not an interview?
  2. These snow days might make February the longest month of the year.
  3. I check just in case. Actually, two of schools have a spot that will show the decision. So I have slight anxiety when I log on, so I try to do it just once a day.
  4. My friend got into AmST at College Park today I think.
  5. A lot of minorities are admitted into undergrad with these "low stats" and have done well in their undergraduate career. Why is graduate study any different? If they have the right research experiences, a good GPA, good recs, and a good SOP, I don't think poor GRE scores = unsuccessful graduate student. Remember the GREs/SATs, etc are culturally biased and aren't good measures of success to begin with.
  6. Ok, nevermind. If past GradCafe results are correct, then I will hear back from 3/6 of my schools in February. yikes. That changes my perspective a bit.
  7. Most of mine are in March too. Someone start a March it is thread now, so we can figure out how to get through Feb. Thankfully, it's the shortest month of the year.
  8. Yea, last week definitely wasn't it. The weeks of mid-February - mid-March are IT. lol
  9. see weekends can be fun too! lol

  10. Realistic. Honestly, I can't really predict what will happen by April 15. Graduate school admissions are like a game of luck. It's almost like they do ene mene mini mo and chose who will get in or not. You can be the most perfect applicant, and get rejected. And though this is taboo here, the applicant with the lowest stats can get admitted. So I applied to a range of reach, "match", and "safety" schools, scholarships and have back up plans (MS programs with later deadlines, applied for internships, jobs). It keeps me sane.
  11. Almost. I'm glad I did some research in December and was able to sneak in 2 more schools than I had originally planned. I really wanted to apply to Penn State but there was no way I would make the deadline in time since they wanted everything in hard copy before the deadline. But I like my list for the most part.
  12. A couple of my programs said they will not be sending decisions by email or phone, only mail.
  13. Yes, this has happened to me too. I have had to call every school to make sure everything is there because I'm now paranoid.
  14. Dear all schools applied to, Cat got your tongue? -Prospective applicant.
