Received email about status update and bam!! Got off the waitlist and was offered NSERC YAY!!!!

@SpiritIsMyMantra @namastayinalive I applied for NSERC, and confirmed that my status is Alternate. It was "received by administrator" in the first 5 minutes before the site crashed though. I hope the status changes for you guys soon good luck (once again)...

Went to talk to the admin of my grad program and found out I was waitlisted Mixed feelings ahh. Good luck to everyone on Friday... I also received the email about status change this afternoon btw.

Don't lose hope LebaneseKafta!! Maybe you'll be the exception!! And congrats to MathCat and lightning1129, especially!!! Edit: also to lore! If, in the end, we are offered a cgs m at our 'alternates', despite not going to that school, do you think we can still put "declined" in our cv haha ?

Each school processes OGS differently, I think. But I think most hear back after CGS-Ms?

Irrelevant, but just received an email from WLU about my OGS application... unsuccessful, but that's probably because I've declined their offer... It still hurts a little though haha. Can't wait to see if everything will be revealed at midnight ><.

I got two of those emails today. First update was about my YorkU's CGS-M application, it has been updated to "ineligible" because I withdrew my app, and 2nd update I guess was about that "important" update re: the 21 day thing... I hope it means I got it for UofT too, omg. Good luck guys. edit: btw I applied under CIHR

For those who received an offer from UofT, what was your deadline to respond? Mine was "within 4 weeks" but the admin at my program (reluctantly) told me April 15th after I told her I might have an offer that will come later than the letter deadline. I don't really believe her for some reason lol ...

Sooo I asked one of my school for an extension because another offer may arrive a little before its March "deadline", and the grad admin was like, "yeah it's fine you can decide on the day of the deadline, it's fine". But I may need more than 24 hours to decide which school I want to spend 6+ years, right? Idk. So I was like, well is an extension possible anyway? She insisted meeting the March deadline. After her getting kind of short with me asking for an extension, I said, okay, what if the other offer comes AFTER the March deadline? THEN she brought up the actual deadline, which is April 15th... Maybe talk to the grad admin/secretary about extending the deadline... you could explain to them what you said here and hope they'd understand. Your concern isn't unreasonable at all lol, imo anyway... Also, @Tacoma, I think that april 15 resolution only applies to schools in the US: http://www.cgsnet.org/ckfinder/userfiles/files/CGSResolution_Rev2015.pdf... unless I'm really blind. I can't find any Canadian schools on this list.

Convincing myself that I am capable, somewhat at least?? lol. Second is deciding where to go, and that the school is the right choice for suuuure...

That's my main strategy!! When I keep reminding myself of this, I eventually look forward to the 'interview' haha.

My POI at WLU called me today... if anyone applied to WLU as well.

My grad director told us that an applicant was awarded a CGS-M last year but not an acceptance to the school, something that the applicant found out much later... I don't think it'll happen to us, since this is the 2nd? or 3rd year? since this system is in place... but yeah she admitted the whole process is very buggy...still. +confusing.
