  1. A member of the religious studies department at my university studied at Notre Dame, began as an MDiv student and switched to an MA. He also noted that the academic requirements for the MDiv are a little more lenient, but they "tend to look for students they think will best contribute to the pastoral mission of the church" in his words.
  2. Based on results posted from previous years, nobody has been accepted after March 15th, so I am wagering I will be receiving my rejection soon. Too bad, it will be my third time being rejected by their MTS.
  3. Just spoke to the admissions offices at Notre Dame and Duke Divinity, and they said they are hoping to release MTS decisions by Friday.
  4. Rory chose Yale over Harvard in Gilmore Girls, so it has that going for it.
  5. Congrats on the Yale Divinity acceptances, everyone! Feel free to accept their offers so I will have a better chance of getting into Notre Dame
  6. A lot of schools are on spring break right now, so we might not hear anything further until Monday.
  7. I have until April 3. 6th largest behind Harvard? Who are 1 thru 4? Thanks
  8. 90% tuition scholarship at PTS and opportunity for work study. Makes accepting their offer all the more tempting. Still need to hear back from Notre Dame and Duke, though.
  9. I've heard a few people say that if you don't hear from Notre Dame (MTS) and Duke (MTS) prior to spring break you likely won't be admitted. Does anyone know how much truth there is to this? Anyone accepted to one of these programs after spring break?
  10. Patristic interpretations of justification and righteousness, the use of philosophy in Eastern Orthodoxy.
  11. Let me know what you find out from your visit! Based on what my POI there has told me, and what I have heard from the admissions committee, it sounds like it is similar to MTS programs elsewhere, which is what I am looking for.
  12. Accepted at Princeton Theological Seminary, financial aid info to follow. Anyone else hear from PTS?
  13. Just received my rejection from Marquette. Rev. Joseph told me my acceptance was unlikely since I didn't have a master's in theology or religious studies.
  14. Really? I contacted Notre Dame a few days ago and the person I sopke with said that the soonest results would be relesed to anyone would be mid March. Was your acceptance unofficial?
  15. I was accepted to Fordham's MA theology program... I think. I received a generic e-mail congratulating me on my acceptance, and instructions on how to accept my offer of admission, but my application status itself hasn't changed from "submitted".
  16. There is this: http://phds.org/rankings/religion I am not sure how up to date the numbers are, though, and it is for PhD programs. Vanderbilt is 14th on the list.
  17. I went 0 for 6 (was accepted to two programs without funding) in the 2012-2013 season and went for an MA in history which I am finishing this semester. I've given up on the philosophy track and am actually hoping to do religious or theological studies now.
  18. Does anyone know how the process tends at Marquette? It looks like interview e-mails have gone out, and I didn't receive an invitation. Is it safe to assume I will be seeing a rejection letter in the mail?
  19. I applied to Duke as well, but didn't hear anything about an application waiver. I know Notre Dame gives fee waivers to ethnic minorities. I have only heard from one of the programs I applied to so far, but I was accepted with funding so that is good. I did find out this week that Princeton never received the transcripts I sent to them so I won't considered for funding. They were not a top choice, but still stinks.
  20. Anyone heard back from the M.A., M.Div and MTS programs they applied to?
  21. So far my buddies have only heard from UNC, Florida State, and smaller denominational schools. I am surprised nobody has heard from Marquette yet. Wasn't their application due at the beginning of December?
  22. I am applying for religious studies and theology programs that typically ask for writing samples of no more than 20 pages in length. The paper I want to submit as my writing sample is ten pages in length. Is a writing sample that is significantly shorter than the maximum given detrimental to an application?
