I have no solid data, but I know someone who is currently in the UW program who was wait listed, so it is possible. I don't think it's inappropriate at all to call and check in.
-
Yeah just pm your email or facebook information and we can keep in touch!

I got the email yesterday For those new to Seattle and UW I did my undergrad there so I would be happy to meet up and introduce the place to people when they start moving over!
-
Whooo! I got in! I applied for regular admissions 2 year program!
-
Ok I'm super paranoid that I could have deleted/ overlord the email. What is the email address they send the letters with?
-
Has anyone received anything that applied for regular enrollment for the two-year? I'm curled up in an anxiety ball.
-
Congratulations! What did you apply for?
-
I just got my acceptance letter to EWU! Phew, it's such a relief. I'm still waiting to hear from UW of course, because apparently they need to make us wait as long as possible...

Why is Portland State so late to decide?

I applied for the regular 2-year program and got it in right around the deadline and still haven't heard from them! I haven't heard back from any of my schools and it is maddening! -
What deadline did you apply for at UW? If you don't mind me asking!
-
Well you'll certainly hear back before me! I got it in by the Jan. 5th deadline. Good luck to you!

Has any one heard back from UW-Seattle yet? I applied for regular registration for the two-year program.

I'm curious as to what you count as a conspiracy theory. It could be completely true that this professor is to set in his ways and allowing for some rude behavior in class. But it's also possible that you're the one being on the stubborn side. Whenever I've felt defensive in a class I have taken it as a chance to reevaluate my beliefs. I'm not saying that you need to change you beliefs or anything, but part of class work is having your beliefs challenged. It's a good growing opportunity, whether it helps you see a new light or if it helps you strengthen your original ideas. You should feel free to voice your opinions in class, but always expect to defend those opinions. Sometimes there are rude people in the class, but oh well, learn how to defend your argument. And also don't just dismiss what someone is saying, maybe it sounds rude to you but it could be a subject they're passionate about. Sorry if this seems like a ramble.

Hi everyone, I'm wondering how everyone here feels about the less prestigious colleges for social work. I personally want to go to school in the Pacific Northwest, it's where my family is and I don't want to be too far away from them. But this really limits my options. I'm of course going to applying to University of Washington and Portland State University, but they have reasonablly low acceptance rates. So my question is, are small social work schools like Easter Washington University really worth it? I haven't heard much about them, and they aren't ranked high at all. But they do have the benefit of smaller class sizes, which is always nice, and the are certified. Anyone here have stories about lower ranking schools that can help me? Thanks!

I'm applying to PSU, UW, EWU, DU, and potentially San Diego.

MSW stat check in - what are you applying with?

Could you describe the focus of your Statements of Intents. How were you able to convey that you were a good candidate without the experience? -

I'm super worried I'm kidding myself by applying this early, but I know this is what I want to do so I'm going to try! GPA 3.84 Double major in Psychology, Anthropology with a Gender and Sexuality Minor Haven't taken the GRE (question for another forum I would suppose but if a program says it doesn't require the GRE do they really mean it? Standardize testing and me are not friends and I don't feel like it would build my resume at all). Volunteer History: A little over a year working at a youth homeless shelter. Most of my time has been as a general volunteer, but I have recently shifted into an overnight supervisor role. Various times where I have helped current grad students with their research, such as transcribing and coding. Relevant employment history: A year as a care-worker in England. Worked in people's homes helping care for vulnerable family members. I did this between my associate of arts degree and my BA. Currently an AmeriCorps volunteer working as an Education and Outreach Coordinator at a women's transitional house. LORS: 3 strong ones from a professor, the shelter, and my current AmeriCorps job. SOP: Pure panic
