  1. I did not take practice tests and did horribly on the quant part. I think not getting used to the format/timing of the GRE had a lot to do with it, so I recommend, yes, take practice tests.
  2. Took the GRE on the 5th, scores still don't appear online, sort of nervous about it.
  3. I should've clarified, for the last few years, I've wanted to go to grad school for a policy degree, the "whim" part was applying for Fall 2015 specifically. For some of the schools I'm interested in, I guess I can retake it later in December and just make the deadline, hopefully I can study more. I just don't know if schools "remember" applications so that if I don't get in this year, I won't get in next because of my awful GRE scores this year, if that makes sense.
  4. So I decided to apply to grad school for fall 2015 just recently on a whim. I was on a six-month med course that made me little more than a depressed half-person, so I've been "myself" again only recently. I did my undergrad in poli sci and economics, got 3.69, won a Boren scholarship, etc. Today, I scored 159 on Verbal and 139 on quant. Are these so bad I should just skip applying this year altogether?I'm feeling very hopeless right now.
  5. I have the 2011 Manhattan books, but since the GRE format changes pretty often, I'm not sure if they're worth studying from.
  6. I would apply. Don't expect to get in, but it sounds like otherwise you have a good list of accomplishments.
  7. So I can take a post it note with the university codes and type them down there?
  8. Anyone else applying to these?
  9. So I understand we can select four places to send our scores to, can we specify these BEFORE the test date online on our My Gre account?
  10. I find Magoosh math to be very difficult and can make you feel overwhelmed, so I'd start with Manhattan, then Magoosh
  11. I can't for the life of me think of a good "hook". Any advice on how to write up your first sentences?
  12. Deadline is Jan 15. I can take it now in November but I haven't studied much and know I'll do badly in the test. Should I take it in December and prepare more or now in November?
