Hi everyone! Nice to "meet" you all. I'm applying to programs for biological anthropology, and I'm specifically interested in primatology. I'm coming in with a masters where I studied animal behavior and looked at the relationships between climate change and litter demography in squirrels. Hoping to study how climate change is influencing primate behavior! Good luck to all of us this season!

Still waiting on UT Austin too..! I've also been rejected from the other programs I've applied to -- the only acceptance I have is MAPSS. I understand that if you have been accepted to multiple phd programs, it wouldn't make sense to do MAPSS but that isn't the case for all of us One of my colleagues from work has a friend in MAPSS and, after talking with her, it seems like she's really happy. I spoke with the director of the program as well, and am seriously considering it!

I'm definitely not going to do it without funding... I just don't know anybody who's attended or knows much about it. So, I'm interested in what others think about the program itself.

So MAPSS isn't worth it? Just a name thing?

I got accepted to MAPSS too, but no funding. Ummm.... blah.

Definitely don't be worried about losing recs. I've been out of college for 3 years and still have profs willing to write recs. Just keep in touch with them every now-and-then, update them on what you're doing, and you'll be fine. They are more than willing to write recs later if they are now.

Ughhh, why wouldn't they just let us know now if we're already rejected?

There's that one person who posted in January about getting accepted via phone... hope they're not the only admit this year haha!

I got an email to check the self-service site, and that's when I found the news. WOMP. But, it might have just been for those of us who applied for evo-anth?

Dont assume Duke is a no! Those of us who were rejected already have been informed

Chicago interviewees for Comp Human Development -- have they told you that students not invited to interview are rejected? I would rather just know than be in limbo!!!

I applied for evolutionary anthropology, but yeah -- I got a notice to check the website, where I found the decision.

I've gotten 2 rejections (Duke & Oregon) already and it sucks! Really hoping for just oneee acceptance-- I emailed Emory U and found out that I am currently in the alternate pool. Congrats to all of who who've received interviews and acceptances You're fabulous!
