  1. Hey! Feel free to PM me. I had to do this last year, and am more than willing to chat if you want.
  2. I saw this too! soooo wonderful. We have to meet up once you're here and settled
  3. just got my Boston rejection! I've now officially heard back from all my schools. This was my 3rd attempt at applying to PhD programs and looks like 3rd time IS a charm - I was accepted to both of my top choice programs and will be attending University of Notre Dame in the Fall! Don't give up!!!
  4. I'm still waiting on Boston, IDK why it's taking so long. though I've already made my decision of where I'm gonna go
  5. Maybe the decision will be there on the 5th and they accidentally sent the email too early?
  6. @theprincessleia No, not every program does interviews!
  7. Lol I ended up doing this yesterday too because I wanted to get my decision out of the way. I got my answer, though! Hope you do too
  8. Yikes! I'm sending you strength for your sugarless times!
  9. I would email back and say you're still very excited in the program, and for them to let you know if there's anything additional you could send over to help push you up. Maybe also send something similar to the dept's director of graduate studies!
  10. Don't feel too sad, y'all! I got rejected from all my places last year, was sad and mopey, ended up doing some really great work over the course of the past year, and have been successful this round in getting an offer from my top-choice school! So be sad for a bit but don't be defeated because you WILL get there!
  11. Yeah, @Anthrobelle - I don't think they'd nominate you for a fellowship if you hadn't been accepted! Woop!! Probably the dept has sent your name to the graduate school itself for acceptance, which is why you haven't gotten your formal letter ... I'd expect it to come, though
  12. I'm sure you did way better than you think!! Anyway, interviews are hard af so don't beat yourself up about it either way.
  13. I'd say just the basics (I'm interested in studying x by doing y) and then follow-up if they ask more questions -- which they likely will! You'll do great, don't over think it
  14. Congratulations @Archaeodan !!!!!! So excited for you.
  15. HEY @Archaeodan!!!! That's so funny. I wonder how often this happens? Anyway, I'm going to PM you.
  16. Thank you @phyanth ! Cant wait for all of us to hear some good news soon. Hi @Indiana_Bones - I was actually invited because I also applied to the Integrative Conservation program ... they're the ones who invited me out last week. No news yet from Anthro but think we will hear within the next 2 weeks. My area is primate behavior (which is where the integrative conservation stuff comes in!)
  17. I have an interview with Notre Dame this week, and was invited to Uni of Georgia last week I'm waiting to hear from Duke's Evolutionary Anthropology program and Boston Uni. I think their anthro program discusses/decides together, but the deadline wasn't until Jan 15 so it'll be a while for them. No idea about Duke.
  18. I've only heard about interviews/etc from schools that collectively meet as an Anthro dept and make their decisions. but separate bioanth programs, also haven't heard anything!!
  19. I'm sure it went GREAT!! Congrats! Congratulations, @Bschaefer !!! That's so exciting!
  20. Anyone know when Duke's evolutionary anth program will start rolling out interviews/anything? Can't really find a consistent timeline anywhere. Hopefully soon either way
  21. Do a field school! Having field experience will really help. When I did mine, I was an undergrad and ended up getting all costs covered (flight, field school cost, etc) - so look into that too.
  22. I'd be happy to read your drafts just message me whenever you are ready to send over!
