  1. RT @nonprophetess: How would you be different from Obama? Clinton: Well, I have a vagina. #DemDebate
  2. RT @AliAjeena: "Corrupt government, Pack up, fill up your jets and leave before it is too late" -Tahrir square, #Baghdad. #IraqWins http:/…
  3. Actually GMU had already sent notification couple weeks ago. Or at least I received an offer couple weeks ago.
  4. Please don’t say that. I am sure you are a wonderful student. Your worth is not determined by a Ph.D. program, and you can always try again. Maybe this happened for the best. I know many grad students who are very unhappy in grad school, and not everyone who made it is deserving. I am sure you will do great in whatever you will do in the future. *Hugs*
  5. I will eventually. I just wanted to see what people have to say here first. I think people will be more honest here.
  6. So, I got accepted to few programs, and while I am attempting to narrow down my choices, I figured I would ask for opinions here. SUNY-Binghamton, University of Utah, GMU, UCR, University of Oregon, and Boston U (most likely). Does anyone have any info about what kind of culture these departments have? Are people (student-student, and professors-students) there competitive, helpful, etc.,? While, funding, fit, goals, etc., are important, I also don’t want to end up in a department where people hate each other. You can’t get this kind of information from the schools’ websites, so I figured I would ask here. Thank you J
  7. Don't panic. Everything is going to be okay.
  8. I need Boston U, GMU, and Utah to talk to me. Sick of waiting.
  9. Same here. I am looking for any advice regarding the housing situation in the area. Off-campus, graduate student friendly area (no or few undergrads), walking distance, nearby restaurants, cafes, etc., and of course, a good price. I know that I am not going to get everything on my wish list, but I would love to hear if anyone has any suggestions. Or if someone is looking for a roommate.
  10. Just going to leave this here. Have a good day. http://www.slate.com/articles/life/education/2015/02/university_hiring_if_you_didn_t_get_your_ph_d_at_an_elite_university_good.html?utm_content=buffercf3ee&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer
  11. Thank you . I couldn't handle the waiting, so I just emailed and asked. They told me I was admitted and they will send more info soon.
