  1. Right, I also live in Queens and I'm going to be commuting to Columbia. Just if you are looking to live close to the school it's cheaper to be near Columbia than NYU.
  2. Did you appeal for more money at Columbia? i did and I received 5k more in total, which definitely makes it comparable to NYU. You should appeal for more and it might even make more financial sense financially to go to Columbia if they give you more $. Also, you are going to spend less money living near Columbia than you would NYU. NYU is in one of the most if not most expensive area in NYC.
  3. I've chosen Columbia! I think NYU is too clinical for me... I am working at a homeless shelter in Manhattan so I'd definitely like to focus more on social justice issues... anyone else attending Columbia??
  4. So, I was rejected as of today, 3/24/15. Pretty upset, but I have other great options and I have decided to attend Columbia! Sending in my money this week. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear!!!
  5. So, I need advice. I still have no decision, had my interivew 4 weeks ago as of tomorrow. The dean herself let me know that a decision "should be psoted" by the end of the week, this was almost weeks ago. Should I try calling? Or do you think they're waiting to hear if other people will accept their offer before letting me know, and calling would just annoy them? Any advice would be helpful.
  6. Even without the health insurance and living expenses, it's $44,781 for the first year at Columbia, and possibly a few hundred less for the second without the orientation fee ($405). That is totally insane! Wahhhhh. This isn't including any scholarships btw. Just the estimated cost.
  7. I received mine, $9,500 for this year. I believe the aid given is renewable if the 2016-17 FAFSA is completed next year but I'm not 100% sure.
  8. me too. 6:19pm I received mine.
  9. I am so frustrated too. The dean herself informed me that a decision should be posted by the end of last week. Still nothing. I am tempted to reach out again to the school although I have a number of times before. I want a decision so I can make my next moves regarding where I'm going to be next year. Extremely extremely frustrated.
  10. Financial aid letters would be really helpful right about now... !
  11. Not sure. She said for newly admitted students so I assume so
  12. I called on Weds. and they said they'll be sending them out in approximately one week. So next week we'll hear I suppose.
  13. Woohoo!!! Isn't that the best feeling. Congrats!!
  14. Has anyone gotten rejected? I think I have but they're just waiting to send them out...
  15. Anyone mind sharing what they received for financial aid?
