  1. Michigan's HMP is ranked #1 in the nation and has been consistently ranked...I visited and I really loved it. Very close-knit group if you want that, and great faculty-student relationships. Regardless, I think both are amazing schools! Congrats!
  2. Didn't make it as a finalist. Good luck to you Hina!
  3. Boston - Has their sh** together. Very impressed with their admissions office and timeliness. Received a large envelope with folder and scholarship info. Emory - awaiting my "gift!" Michigan - Notified by emails and then received a cute little "Key to Public Health" flash drive. Sent in a beat up shipping envelope though and the letter was all wrinkled
  4. Hi everyone, Does anyone know anything or has applied to the USAID Donald M. Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship Program? I applied this year and I really hope I at least get an interview! I learned about it not too long ago and it seems like an awesome opportunity! I am actually planning on studying public health and am interested in becoming a population/health/nutrition officer. Any advice on timeline, interviews, and your experience (application process or if you are a fellow) would be appreciated! Thanks.

  6. I've heard UNC has a good maternal/child health program.
  7. Oh, hahaha I thought you were hinting at something wrong with the health policy/management dept. Duh
  8. Thanks! I actually got into the international health epi program, and will be interviewing for the health management and policy program at UMich. If you have the chance, visit the schools and ask questions. Other peoples' opinions/experiences and rankings don't compare to your own instincts. Good luck!
  9. University of Michigan: I spent a summer there for the HBHE dept, but I noticed how awesome the health management and policy dept was. Awesome professors, large alum network (which is super important in this area of public health), ranked #1 in the US GWU: My friends in the epi/biostats depts hated the school and thought it was poorly organized, faculty wasn't really focused on students; but, great place for networking and policy dept; everyone i know who attended (and hated GW) found a job within 3 months of graduation Emory: I haven't heard the best things about their management/policy dept...I think they are more known for global health and epi
  10. I submitted my SOPHAS apps on 11/22 and SOPHAS verified on 11/24. Boston verified/confirmed on 11/25. Accepted to University of Michigan's Global Epi program on 12/4 and Boston University's Global Health program on 12/18. Emory just received my application, but are still waiting on my transcript?? I'll give them another week to see if they received it. Georgia State received my application as well.
  11. Hey so I decided to just email Georgia State about the status of my application and they sent me an email just now saying they've received it. Hopefully they received yours too!
  12. Thanks for the help! I haven't heard from GSU either...and yes, they are the only school that hasn't even confirmed receipt of my application. Their deadline is in March though..
