  1. To the Georgia State University poster who got waitlisted today, I'm really sorry to hear the news I hope someone turns down their offer there so you can get in.. Would you mind PMing me your PI? Or I could tell you mine and you could let me know if that was your PI or not.
  2. Congrats to the person who was accepted to the University of Tennessee! Could you also please PM me your POI? Thanks!!
  3. Great thread to start. I just got off a phone interview today with my PI and it went over the allotted time which I thought was a good sign. However, my PI ended the conversation with telling me that I would get accepted somewhere and didn't give me a particular time frame to expect to hear back from the program.. Granted, the actual on-campus interview day is next week, but I couldn't make it so that's why I had a phone interview. Anyways, I thought the conversation went well until that point. Any thoughts though?
  4. Can the Boston College counseling psych person please PM me their POI or if they received an invite from the DCT/grad student? Thank you!!!
  5. Would the clinical psych Marquette people PM me your POI or letting me know if you received an interview invitation to on site campus? Thanks in advance!
  6. Could the person who was invited to interview day with the University of Florida's Counseling program please let me know if they were contacted by their POI, DCT, or grad student? Also, if you feel comfortable PMing me your POI, it would be greatly appreciated!
  7. To the person who got a phone interview at SUNY Stony Brook's Clinical program, could you please message me your POI if you feel comfortable doing so? If not, I would love to know if you received an email from your POI, DCT or a grad student. I would greatly appreciate it!
  8. To the person who was accepted by The University Of Illinois At Urbana-Champaign with funding for six years, congratulations!!! Would you mind sharing who your POI is or at least the department you applied to? Thanks so much!
  9. Hi everyone, I'm wondering if I should pursue a Counseling PhD or LCSW in Texas. I only want to do therapy and have no desire for teaching, although I don't mind conducting research. I just know that academia is really competitive and I'd much rather have my own private practice. Anyways, my question pertains to employment and salary opportunities for PhD's vs LCSW's. I know that the salary difference is probably $10-$15k. I was wondering which degree would give me a better return on investment, especially if I went to a fully-funded PhD program. Isn't it much easier to find a job with an LCSW? I guess which degree is better worth my time and money, especially given the saturated job market nowadays?
