  1. Talk to your professor and ask them to resubmit and make sure they get a confirmation. Sometimes the forms are poorly designed or the professor just messes up. Email the graduate coordinator and let them know about the technical difficulty. Ask if they can send the letter directly to the program via email if they can't get the technical difficulty resolved. Shouldn't be an issue but you should take care of this ASAP. Good luck!
  2. Thanks Clausius, congrats to you too! Sounds like you should have an admission once they get whatever info they need from you. Congrats on MIT tulips!
  3. Anyone know why some of the UW Madison results are showing interview rather than acceptance? My email was a straight admission, seems kind of weird.
  4. Got my UW-Madison admit by email this morning! Visits are March 6-7 and 20-21. Really excited.
  5. Congrats Stanford people!
  6. *crickets chirping* not too much going on this week, huh? but I'd imagine lots of results next week...
  7. Thank you for the response! I have my fingers crossed about Wisconsin.
  8. I am in chemical engineering and I'm just assuming that the admissions committees will know who my letter writers are. And that the fact that they are successful will help. Maybe it's different in other fields though.
  9. ^ Congrats! Fingers crossed I'm next...
  10. This is perfect, thanks for the reply! I am sure I will come up with many more questions and may send you a PM. For now - any reason you picked Wisconsin over other programs (especially UT)? Obviously there is a very strong controls program, but I'm curious if anything in particular stood out to you at visits, etc. I'm definitely interested in doing multiple industry internships if possible, so I'm glad - and not really surprised - to hear it's commonly done by PhD students in this area.
  11. Wasn't me There have been a couple submitted..
  12. I am calm...in fact, there was a last minute issue with one of mine AND some of my letters still aren't in...but I am pretty damn calm.
  13. Thanks for the replies! MathCat's story is interesting and something I wondered about. I did get an admit before all my LORs were in for one school, so more proof that they're "going to do what they want" I guess. Another obvious reason NOT to procrastinate like me is that any technical difficulties will presumably get you a lot less sympathy if brought up in a panic at the last minute.
  14. I'm kind of a procrastinator, and have been submitting most of mine on or quite close to the deadlines - most of the work is done, I just tend to wait for whatever reason. I've already gotten a couple acceptances, so my anecdata says no, but - has anyone ever heard of committees judging / giving a crap about last minute submissions?
  15. I had a very similar situation to commodork (the first two years' GPA wasn't terrible or anything), but opted not to mention it. I was on the fence. I am hoping improvement is obvious and viewed positively.
