  1. I think Comp Lit is finally starting to roll....!!!! I woke up to an email from UW Madison this morning telling me they were going to accept me... They also told me that they're getting a new Latin Americanist in their faculty which is absolutely amazing! If anyone else has applied I wish you all the luck in the world!
  2. Congratulations!!! What amazing news! Also congrats to all other new admits that I've missed! Also, I woke up this morning to an acceptance to UW Madison for Comp Lit, there were literally tears of joy and relief as I showered, had breakfast and cycled to work. Who knew six o'clock could bring so much joy?
  3. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and all other people who are hoping to hear from Emory!
  4. I know. The silence is killing me! Selfishly I am a little relieved that I am not the only one being ignored, makes me less worried that there might be a big app party going on that I'm not invited to Also, going by the results survey there doesn't seem to be too much going on with the Spanish (and other foreign lang) acceptances yet, and given our probably dependence on foreign lits as well I guess it makes sense for the Comp Lit departments to be so agonisingly silent
  5. Maybe, but as In hac spe vivo said, this can only be a good sign. They clearly see potential or they wouldn't bother contacting you! I'm keeping my tightly fingers crossed!
  6. Wow!!! Congratulations!
  7. I'm pretty sure this is sillyrabbit's, it was announced in the Lit, Rhet & Comp forum...
  8. Maybe we should just divide all the unis between us and start harassing them for information?
  9. What amazing news!!!! Congratulations both of you!!! 1Q84 I'll keep my fingers crossed that waitlisting will become a complete offer!!! :-)
  10. I think my chances and stress levels are equal to yours... I feel positively queasy! Still, may I applaud your bravery in contacting them?
  11. Thanks for this, it looks amazing... Just a question though, are we listing an entry per school we've applied to or just one entry per person? Congratulations to all you guys who got an interview invite!!!! Even if it isn't the norm, it can hardly be a bad thing
  12. Congratulations on your new acceptance hypervodka, really amazing!!! Knocking them all off their socks! This is so true.. Pain and rejection may hurt, but I'm not sure it hurts me more than my mind and my vivid imagination inflict on their own And speaking of that.. please bring on the Comp Lit news! Dying here!
  13. Oooh, I'm so glad! I'm yet to read anything by Eng that isn't amazing! I'm glad you're finding him equally inspiring
  14. I haven't heard anything, but then I applied to Comp Lit, and I don't think (wishful thinking, maybe?) they've sent out their replies yet...
  15. Haven't really got much to say except that I think this is a great idea! I think this is very true, rejections are as important to painting a picture of admission boards' decisions...
  16. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this is the week when you're right...
  17. Congratulations on the waitlisting, fingers crossed it'll develop into a real offer or that you'll get some cool ones from other unis
