  1. Quick question: Does anyone know when to expect a notification - positive or negative - from the MA program at Williams College?
  2. I'm starting to get a little anxious. I'm heard affirmatively from two programs - which is good - and negatively from three programs, but today is March 16, and I'm still waiting to hear from six schools. (I applied to eleven programs across ten schools.) I need to be making a decision about the two I got into, and yet I don't even know what all of my options are. Decision day is in a month. When am I going to hear from these six schools?
  3. I am looking to complete a master's in Art History, and I am looking at Williams College for its much lauded art history program. However, I am less than comfortable with the fact that Williamstown has a population of less than 8,000. I am used to living in a larger town. I looked up the town online and it seemed to have received an unnatural dose of 'small town charm' - almost to the point of Pleasantville status. Has anyone here lived in Williamstown? Would you recommend it, or is does the town seem a bit too close for comfort? Are there reasonable amenities? I would love to visit and explore the town for myself, but that doesn't look like an option right now, so I would love to hear your opinions of Williamstown.
  4. The Art History Newsletter no longer exists, which means that the simple, online NRC rankings list is no longer available. The fully scored rankings are available on the Chronicle of Higher Education's website (http://chronicle.com/article/NRC-Rankings-Overview-History/124737/), and the easy AHN list can be found through Archive.org (https://web.archive.org/web/20120516074401/http://arthistorynewsletter.com/blog/?p=5204). I hope this is helpful!
  5. I love my Uni-Ball Jetstream retractable roller-ball pens. They're moderately expensive, but it's a great pen. They write well and are durable, plus I have a thing for clicky pens. And Uni-Ball uses that anti-check-washing ink, which apparently also works when you drop an exam in a puddle. My marks were still there, but the prof's ink pretty much washed away.
