Figured this may be a better thread to ask: How common is it for universities to reimburse you for travel? Does it mean anything (like, they really want you) or is it common practice?

To which program did you apply at UMD?

Someone should study short term and long term well-being outcomes of potential graduate students during and post the application process :-/ There has to be be both developmental and clinical implications. I, for one, am simply losing my mind...

Exactly! It was very detailed. I can only hope that the other two were just as strong. I do have one interview so far!

I didn't post that I had strong LOR's, but I know for a fact that I do have at least one because my recommender sent a copy of it to me. I really think she did it just to prove it was done as it was late, lol. However, I read the letter and it was outstanding! It actually brought a tear to my eye because I didn't realize she felt so strongly about me and my potential. I do recall attending a panel once where professors say they have ways of communicating with admissions committees through the letters whether they should really consider certain applicants.

What are your opinions regarding this? I was fortunate enough to land an interview and I was considering emailing a few of the current students in the program to gain insight on the institution's process and, perhaps, establish some comradery prior to meeting. Thoughts???
