  1. Have you already been accepted as well?
  2. Well, now I'm actually confused. For shits and giggles, I clicked the link and see this: Newly admitted students: Please allow up to 72 hours after notice of admission for the "housing registration" option to appear in the gray bar above. The link does appear for me. And I'm classified as a 'Graduate/Professional Student'. However my application status still says 'decision pending' in the portal. And my email inquiries have gone unanswered.
  3. Email from University Housing: "Graduate students with completed applications to UGA may immediately register for on-campus housing—no need to wait for that acceptance letter! Choose Family and Graduate Housing now and make your transition to the University of Georgia as easy as 1, 2, 3!"
  4. I received a request for interview just before midnight.
  5. Received a rejection today. From the last program I applied to. Generic email. Oh well, one less app portal to check in my daily rituals.
  6. I HATE THIS PROCESS! AND THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO UNDERSTAND ME ARE ALL OF YOU WHO ARE GOING THROUGH THIS SAME VERSION OF HELL!! I'M SORRY ABOUT THE CAPS BUT I'M AT WORK AND CAN'T JUST BUST OUT RUNNING AND YELLING IN FRUSTRATION AND ANGST AS I TRULY DESIRE AND THE USE CAPS GIVES ME A SLIGHT BIT OF RELIEF. THAT IS ALL.
  7. I'm sorry, but that made me laugh. Out loud.
  8. Once again, its Friday evening. At this point, I've presumed rejections for two programs (NCSU & UNCC), but there are still three other schools I haven't heard from. I was extremely fortunate to have received an invite to interview for an outstanding program, but they won't be making decisions until the first week of March. Patience has NEVER been a virtue of mine, and I become more and more anxious, crazy, irrational, and annoying every day. Aren't there laws against hazing???
  9. I've interviewed for a program and am waiting to hear results, which won't happen until first week of March. My interview was awesome! I accidentally couldn't have asked for it to be any better. It was a full day of interviews with the entire department. In my last meeting of the day, the faculty member said "You look great on paper. And you present very well. You obviously have a lot of experiments and many accomplishments. But I have a question: What's up with your GRE score?" My answer: "Well, I'm not really a proponent of standardized testing. (quick laughed, and she agreed)However, those scores are a few years old. Since then I have earned a masters degree where I successfully completed advanced level statistics courses, culminating in a quantitative thesis. In my year off, I've also served as a research assistant primarily responsible for the statistical analysis of the project. Though my score does not reflect this, I am confident in my research and analytic skills and my ability to be successful in doctoral level training." She smiled.
  10. It happened to me as well. However, the program I just interviewed with asked me flat out about my score. They didn't stand it when evaluating the rest of my credentials. I had the opportunity to explain that the score was 4 years old, and since taking the GRE I'd successfully completed graduate level stats courses, and a quantitative master's thesis. They were satisfied with the response.
  11. It's 5pm my time. ANOTHER WEEK WITHOUT A PEEP FROM THESE OTHER PROGRAMS. WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?1 WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! Okay, back to your regularly scheduled program.
  12. Don't mind at all. Check your inbox
  13. I totally understand. Don't give up. Sometimes things don't go as planned, but who says our plan was the right one??
  14. Interestingly, we have similar profiles :-). This is technically my third round of applications. My first year I applied to one program: my undergraduate institution. I was not accepted. I was, however, accepted into a masters program that I discovered quite late in the game. Turned out to be a blessing in disguise. It was a more intimate program with great faculty and I'm so happy for the experience. Like you, my quantitative score left much to be desired. Last year I applied to two programs, including my second attempt at my undergrad institution. I was actually told then that it was my quant score that did not allow for me to go to the next round of consideration (that program/school is highly competitive). So, this is now my third round of apps. The difference: I have since earned a masters. What I'm learning now is that although it is possible to go straight from undergrad to a PhD program, most adcoms are more inclined to recruit students with a masters. You've proven that you can handle the academic rigor of grad school. You've have advance training in your field, including an internship, most likely; and you've most likely completed a thesis with a quantitative component. I thought about retaking my GRE, but timing and finances never really synched. If its not too late, I really suggest considering applying to masters programs for the fall. You can still apply to a PhD program toward your completion date and never skip a beat. And who knows, your research interests may change. Either way, trust that things work out the way they are supposed to. I was really bummed last year when I didn't get into a program. Today, however, it seems as if things are really falling into place. I don't know what the next few weeks hold, and I'm quite anxious of the unknown. But I feel so much more "prepared" for whatever the next phase is. #mytwocents
  15. I can't find the original thread where someone posted a question about status updates. I had another FINALLY change from "Complete" to "Application released to program for their review. All letters of reference have been received. The Graduate College is waiting for the program's recommendation". Probably means very little, but the only other application status that has updated thus far is from the school that invited me to interview. I guess we'll see.
  16. I'm curious about the folks who posted acceptances from NCSU Developmental program. Did you interview?
  17. It is the College Park, but I applied to the Family Science program there. I'm also applied to NCSU PPI program. Waiting... This can't be good for the heart... I applied to six programs, total. And Thanks!
  18. Hey! I haven't heard anything from UNCC. But I did get an interview at UMD :-)
  19. I applied to the community psych program at University of North Carolina Charlotte.
  20. I wish there was some possible way for me to focus on anything else right now! Any good news on invites or acceptances??
  21. One of mine changed from "Submitted" to "Under departmental/program review"
  22. I was offered up to $250 in reimbursement. Had to submit a tentative itinerary prior to the visit, and will present receipts day of. I realize I may be making too much of nothing but my nerves are on 10 right now!
