When/If I get my first/dream acceptance I'm breaking out a bottle of scotch I've been saving. If I don't get accepted anywhere the same will be true with a much cheaper bottle. Either way, scotch.

Slow day for the results page and this forum. I hope you all had a great weekend. Let's hope we all get good news this week.
-
I didn't hear from Duke last week, unless they do two waves, I'm guessing I'll be getting a rejection e-mail sometime soon.
-
Congrats to the St. Louis admit.
-
If that Duke admit was a troll I'm going to have a conniption. I haven't seen any more Duke submissions, I'm on the edge of my seat, and I have an important meeting in half an hour during which I really need to focus.
-
Thanks Ashiepoo, me too, for research purposes the Triangle area is ideal for me.
-
Unfortunately, that Duke submission wasn't me. Hopefully I'll hear something.
-
I would like to hear from Duke or Virginia.
-
Heimat Historian, I would upvote your comment, but I'm out of upvotes.

As I compulsively check my e-mail and refresh the results page, very little work gets done. Luckily, I have a job that takes me away from my desk quite often, yet I still find myself checking my phone for e-mails and/or missed calls. I'm distracted to say the least.

Who was the University of Miami admit?
-
This week was way quieter than expected, but I haven't lost hope for tomorrow. Fridays, judging from previous years' results submissions, seem to see heavy traffic. That said, yes...I am about ready to flip my lid if I don't hear something, anything, back very soon.

Congrats Chiqui! That's great news.

This silence is deafening. When will more of these East Coast and Southern schools send out notifications? I have heard nothing as of yet and it's killing me. By this time in 2014 and 2013 Duke, UVA, and UT-Austin already notified their acceptances. I'm not sure if the results page helps my anxiety or adds to it, but I'm going to have an ulcer by March.

Yeah, to add to the parent/non-traditional train, I'm 32 with a 6 month old daughter. I also did not major in history but double majored in PoliSci and English (Poetry). I worked one year as a freelance writer and the last ten years as a high school teacher of both English and History. I recently graduated with my MA in History and also decided to follow my passion and go for the PhD. I'm glad to see so many other people in my same boat. Working full time, working on a my MA, and supporting my pregnant wife and infant daughter at the same time was one of the hardest and most rewarding experiences of my life. I hope the PhD will prove just as rewarding (if I get in). I also didn't mention my daughter, but now wonder whether I should have. Good luck everyone.

I have a daughter too, but she's 6 months old.

This waiting game is excruciating. I appreciate this site as it allows us all to share in our collective agony. Congrats to all the acceptances so far.

Heimat Historian- Though it may be a bit tedious, I went through the search tool on the "Search Results" page and manually searched for "history" plus the full or partial name of the institutions to which I applied. What I found was there seemed to be a constant trend to when most schools reply, Duke is almost always among the first (the last two years on Jan 24 and 25) with schools like UNC-Chapel Hill and Florida as late as February 21. You may want to look back and seen when they usually start getting back, that should provide you with a good idea as to when you may hear back from specific schools.

Chiqui, I am not currently at FIU but I did get my Master's there. I'm looking at researching borderlands and gender, specifically masculinity among Arab immigrants to the Americas around the turn of the twentieth century. Are you at FIU? Do we know each other?

Michaelgi, I had a similar experience with UT-Austin, only the admissions person who e-mailed me told me what the problem was (one of my uploaded transcripts was difficult to read and she asked me to resubmit). If I were you, I would reply to the e-mail asking for specific information as to what action they require to consider your application complete. Good luck. BTW, I'm a new poster who also regularly stalks. I enjoy sharing in our common anxiety and neuroticism. Best of luck to all the applicants, I can't wait to see where everyone ends up.
