  1. ....are you a 19 year old, final semester of your undergraduate, MIT applicant?
  2. Doing an MA really helped me in this respect....
  3. You are probably seeing different results because you are likely searching different things. Since UVA techinically refers to their programs as a "Politics" PhD, rather than 'Political Science', results get entered under both. But, to get in on the UVA conversation, I have not heard from them either. Hopefully I get in though....with a generous cheese burger funding package. oh, and just in case anyone wanted to know how I play hardball with ad comms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2F-XuDMpDM
  4. How did you find out that you are waitlisted at Pitt? I haven't heard anything from them, and there is no indication of any decision on the application portal. Hope you hear something positive from Northwestern and/or Penn
  5. Yep, I'll be visiting UT-Austin next week.
  6. Yeah, given that I had already received some offers, I informed Florida that I would be withdrawing my application when they solicited the official transcripts. Like you, I was under the impression that only unofficial transcripts were needed. And, rather than pay to rush transcripts to a school that I likely would not attend, I chose yo just withdraw my app from consideration.
  7. plenty of us have heard from them. I, for instance, was rejected. Others have been accepted. You're probably on a wait list, I reckon.
  8. I feel like you're probably leaning toward Vandy then. Am I right? Haha, and it might make you a little crazy...but, there 's nothing wrong with that
  9. Oh, I wish that I was one of those already with an offer in hand. My post was only based off of the information of the results page combined with some of the posts from people on here who received offers. So, hopefully one of those people can answer your question
  10. They sent out a couple of offers on Feb 5th to people that the department was also nominating for outside fellowships. Most offers, however, will be forthcoming--by the end of the month, I believe.
  11. ***we interrupt this Ivy League program to inform you that Bubandis has received an admission offer from the University of Nebraska. We now return to your scheduled Ivy League programing***
  12. Same here, regarding Minnesota. How did you find out about the Pitt decision? Did they email you?
  13. Congrats!! And, good for you on letting the programs you won't be attending know early! Quite admirable, indeed
  14. Possibly, but not that I am aware of. Being in the western US, and this being my lazy day (as well as my bday, no shit!), I probably wasn't up as early as y'all. interesting...the suspense continues
  15. My status is showing as "Decision Made." On the website, it says to "please allow one business day to view your decision once your status on this page has been updated to Decision Made" Not a good feeling about this, tbh. Good luck to everyone in "final review"
  16. I am hoping for Minnesota, Pitt, and Virginia to send out more decisions!
  17. Right on, mate I will tell myself that they must have decided to notify those who received bonus fellowships first lol
  18. Congrats! Some list of schools you have to choose from! when did you hear from UVA?
  19. are you trolling? Lol mate, sorry if I was unclear, but the point of my post is that I have NOT heard anything, whereas people have been posting about acceptances from them for the past week. Virtually every junior faculty member, let alone their grad students, know about this website...so, they should know that once an acceptance is given out, everyone will know about it. Therefore, I dont think it is unreasonable of me to be a little annoyed that I still have no idea whether or not I am sitting on a wait-list, or will be rejected outright. But, I suppose that I will take the initiative if I've still not been contacted by them (or if my status in their system still hasn't changed) by week's end. By "in limbo," I mean that I've heard nothing from them. If you are referring to my signature, yeah, I am just assuming a rejection, but would love confirmation.
  20. I really wish that departments were better about sending out waitlist notifications, and rejections to align with admission notifications. I am in limbo with regard to Colorado, Stony Brook and, now, Texas-Austin. Yes, I could just email them myself, but, on the other hand, they could also utilize their online status portals and/or send a generic email. My bitching here is in hope that future ad com members/DGS people might see this thread and see all of the frustration that lacking communication causes.
  21. I suspect so, but am also curious about this
  22. Welcome, and congrats on those two acceptances! So, Texas must have notified all admits? Seems to have slipped past me until now, but, I will assume rejection there as well, I suppose.
