usercat got a reaction from E-P in What is the smallest shoe size for female in US?
According to this guide, EUR 34 is actually a kids size in the US: http://www.zappos.com/c/shoe-size-conversion
If you really are a kids 3 (!), you can save a lot of money buying kids size shoes. For athletic-type shoes, though, definitely take a look at the kids department. They're substantially cheaper and sometimes you can even find them without glitter and Disney characters.
For what it's worth, I'm a 5 or 5 1/2 and definitely have some trouble finding nicer shoes in my size in stores. Sometimes I get lucky (and you figure out the stores around you that tend to carry smaller sizes), but I often buy online. -

usercat got a reaction from Chai_latte in Best Rejection Reactions - 2015
My favorite is from last year:
University Of Virginia Electrical And Computer Engineering, PhD (F14) Rejected via Website on 7 Apr 2014 I 8 Apr 2014 Pahahahaha! Of all fishes in the ocean, a wrecked school like UVa had the guts to reject me? These guys are a joke with no punch line. I've been admitted to far better programs. Charlottesville, Viginia can suck it!!! On the flip side, my horoscope warned me about applying to this school. I should have listened! -

Yeah, looking at the past results boards, it seems like most programs notify in March, so maybe we'll get more of a conversation going once decisions start coming in. UT-Austin (LBJ) had some admits in late January in past years -- I wonder if they're on a similar timeline for this year. Any other LBJ PhD applicants lurking on this thread?

It's not really a guilty pleasure, but I've been training my cat. He now knows how to play fetch, walk on a leash without pulling, sit, and come. Stay seems to be an issue. If grad school doesn't workout, I'll just dedicate my time to making him an internet star

Anyone want to revive this conversation for fall 2015 public policy Ph.D. applications? I can start. I applied to LBJ, Evans, and Ford. Anyone else? Has anyone heard anything yet?
