  1. I've heard great things about Leicester - what program are you going into? And congrats on your interview, I'm sure it went better than you think. I'm trying not to dwell on it so much, even though that's pretty much impossible. I'm looking for a part-time job and I'm going to a community college part-time to get a beginner's knowledge of French and Latin, since I'll be doing an MA in Medieval Studies. I'll keep you in my prayers - we've got this! *fist bump*
  2. Nope - still no word. I emailed Maria Mazer, IIE Program Manager for Europe/Eurasia, and she said: "The Fulbright Commission does interview some candidates, but if you don’t hear from them about an interview it doesn’t mean that you are not being considered. They may not be interviewing for every partnership program." I know that last year, decisions were sent on 3/19, so I'm hoping that we'll get notified in the next 2-3 weeks. *fingers crossed* What Partnership Award are you applying for? I applied to Exeter. Good luck to you!
  3. I sent an email to Maria Mazer, IIE Program Manager for Europe/Eurasia, to see if I could confirm my transcripts had been received, and she replied: "Due to the number of transcripts we are processing at the moment, we are not able to provide individual confirmation. If we do not received your transcript, we will be in touch and ask you to re-submit. In this case, no news is good news. " So if we haven't heard anything, that probably means they've been received. Also, I asked her when UK notifications would be sent out, and she replied: "I can’t say exactly when decisions will be announced because the Fulbright Commission in the UK is currently working on their final decisions. IIE makes most announcements in March and April." Last year most notifications came out on 3/19, so given this year's early recommendation notification (1/16), I'm hoping final notifications will be sent out in the next 2 weeks!
  4. Hi Rosy - I'm studying Medieval History - particularly Western European religious history from 1050-1250. Thank you for all this info. I emailed Ms. Mazer, the Fulbright Program Manager for Europe/Eurasia, and she replied the following: "The Fulbright Commission does interview some candidates, but if you don’t hear from them about an interview it doesn’t mean that you are not being considered. They may not be interviewing for every partnership program." I still have not heard anything, which I'm hoping just means that Exeter is not doing interviews. According to the stats on the Fulbright UK page (http://us.fulbrightonline.org/countries/selectedcountry/united-kingdom), 16 people applied to Exeter for the Fulbright last year, and I still haven't found anyone on here applying to Exeter, so I'm hoping that means a lot less people applied there this year.
  5. Rosy, what University Award are you applying for? Dbloom, I haven't received an interview email either, so I'm starting to freak out too - where are you applying? I'm applying to University of Exeter for an MA Degree. Since I'm guessing the interviews will take place the last week in February, does this mean if we don't hear anything by the end of the week we've been rejected? A friend told me she got the email 2 weeks before her interview last year. Also, are interviews mandatory for all UK Awards, or only some?
  6. Has anyone been admitted into the English PhD program at either UC Davis or UWashington? Applying: Berkeley, Columbia, Mills College, Princeton, UC Davis, University of Exeter, UWashington Accepted: (0/11) Waitlisted: (0/11) Rejected: (2/11) Berkeley (History PhD), Columbia (English PhD), Princeton (History PhD)
  7. Thank you! I hope we get decision notifications in March too! I am applying to the University of Exeter's Medieval Studies MA program. Do you know when the phone interviews will take place? I haven't gotten an email with that info yet, so that worries me a little. UK is one of the countries that requires phone/Skype interviews, right? Thanks!
  8. Hi everyone! *waves* I'm new to GradCafe, and saw this forum in a Google search. I got recommended for a study/research grant in the UK! This is my first time applying, and I'm so excited to have passed the first round! The email said I could get the final notification between February and May, which is a big time frame, so I am wondering if anyone knows when the UK usually sends final notifications? Thanks!
