  1. Hello people! I am planning to sneak a cat in Columbia Couples Housing. Any thoughts on the matter?
  2. Some things have been said about Harvard on the previous pages... but there are still no posted results. By the way, what is a "solicited rejection"?
  3. This post is hidden because you have chosen to ignore posts by pot. Nice! Why some schools are taking SO long to reject candidates? I know that I am out of some programs by the number of posts seen on the results page + the time since first accepted candidates appeared (Example: University of Toronto), but I never received any email from them letting me know...
  4. Blame the juvenile American TV series! Half of my vocabulary comes from them, you know.
  5. Pot, you are desperately needing a group hug. I know this are hard times, I really know. Hopefully, some schools like Stanford are accepting persons with really low IQ, like me. God bless them! And yes, you're blocked, little coward guy. End of story. To the rest of this wonderful forum: please let me know if you find any of my posts offensive or rude. I really think that the "Haters gonna hate!" posts in the results page are disgusting, and I would hate to give that impression.
  6. Back to the forum after a beautiful visit to Stanford. News: rejected by Chicago.
  7. My applications for Stanford and Brown were insane: GRE got late, SoP was too long, official transcript should be mailed, I was afraid of touching the wrong button all the time, etc. The answer to one of my "insanity emails" (Dear Sir or Madam I am really sorry but the scores/but ETS/but my university/1007 words!!) was the extension of Brown's deadline. And I still wonder why they did it.
  8. This thread needs some humanities!
  9. Anyone here? I want to live in Stanford's campus with my beloved cat... Would that be possible?
  10. My application wasn't that bad after all!
  11. KISS OF DEATH? WAS IST DAS? P.S.: I really understand the fact that some US applicants hate GradCafé and the reasons that can lead them to hate it. I do. So they close the web page, turn around and ask their older brothers, aunts or acquaintances about the application process. Or they can hear through the grape vines if some committee has decided whose in the wait list. Well, good for them. I don't have access to that privilege: no one around me understands the process of applications, I've never been to the USA, I've never seen or talked to someone with a degree in, just to name a few, Stanford, Berkeley, Columbia or Harvard. As a result, GradCafé is a unique tool for me.
  12. Woa, one can lose an acceptance from a school?! I didn't know that.
  13. And don't forget staff! They are key elements in all the application process + less involved than professors in it.
  14. Well, that could be the case...
  15. By the way, can someone claim the NYU acceptance? And should I infer from that the fact that I was waitlisted/rejected at NYU?
  16. Not posting results is like dropping litter in the streets: everyone thinks one's actions are not relevant until GC dies or streets are filled with rubbish. And I am sure that this phrase would sound better if I were a native speaker.
  17. What a great movie. I'll keep on saying it until the end of times.
  18. I've made a waiting list thread of Classics, because in other areas it works like a charm!
  19. Stealing the idea from Philosophy's thread, I open this "Waiting List Thread 2015" in order to organize the movements of the waiting lists. And how does this work? Well... 1. Waitlisted? Come and share. We know how you feel, bro. 2. Accepted from two universities in the same town? Turn down the offer of your not-so-beloved university and share the moment with us. 3. Accepted from lots of universities all around the world? Lucky you! Turn down the offers you're not going to take and also share the moment with us. Profit: Waitlisted persons know that they can keep on dreaming and waiting for a place in X University. Accepted can share some joy with waitlisted. Much love in the air. More information can never hurt, so please contribute!
  20. I really love Woodruff's, White' and Perlman's work (all brilliant in Greek + Philosophy)... but yes, the roman side of the department is not breathtaking, I guess. I wonder why Harvard lacks of a strong department (as we would expect from Harvard University) in Classics...
