Good to know... and too bad for my nerves. Birchleaf, have you read information about Columbia's Classical Studies PhD program? What do you think about it? I applied for it (very excited about it, by the way), but I remain curious about the limitations of the degree itself (i.e. if some universities will prefer a common Ph.D. degree in Classics). Just for the record, I applied to UChicago, Toronto, Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Yale, Texas at Austin, Princeton (Philosophy), Cornell (Philosophy), Brown and the MSt in Ancient Philosophy of Oxford. Yes, a bunch.
