Hi! It was very hard for me, too. I think if I could pick with no consideration of money, it would be Austin (I love that place!). But I realized that the cost being 11,000 more per year coupled with jobs after an MSW still not being very high paid, too much of a deterrent. Debt terrifies me! I also appreciate that its closer to my family who live in NC. I have talked to students from both schools and both seem really great for the Clinical route (I didn't ask about other concentrations, but I am sure they are all great, too). So I don't think you can go wrong!

Hi! I am excited about accepting my offer into the full-time 2 year MSW program at VCU and thought it would be great to connect with other committed students. I've only been to Richmond once, but really liked it and only have heard good things. I also have been looking on craigslist about housing, but I think it may be a bit too early for housing in August. Look forward to meeting you all in the Fall!

Also, I am dealing with the same dilemma...I got into Austin, where I would LOVE to live. I ultimately decided its not worth the extra debt when I will be coming out to a low paying job. Tough, though!

Did visits lean people towards going with Pitt? I was never invited for one. I have spent time in the city, but not the campus.

I wanna say it took at least two weeks for Pitt to send out the funding packet, if not a little longer.

Hey! So I think the only reason I got the funding because I applied before the priority deadline and they basically guarantee you'll get some funding. Otherwise, I don't think I would get one (myy gpa was 3.5). I got 5,000/semester, which I think is pretty generous. Sounds like other people got the same or a bit higher.

Hi! I got into Pitt. Have to let em know by March 15th to get the scholarship money. Feel like its not enough time! What have ppl heard about the school? I am interested in doing to Clinical route and am not sure its the right fit for that or not. Right now deciding between Pitt (new place which is fun, but lower rank) and UNC (hometown, so boring, but ranked higher) and I feel like I can't decide! Any advice or insight would be wonderful!!

I had a 3.5 gpa (finished undergrad at UNC) and pretty bad writing and math GRE scores, so I don't think you should worry too much about that! I do have 4 years of social service experience since graduating college, which I am thinking is what got me in. Does anyone have any idea how much reputation and ranking really matter in the SW field?
