Anyone have any idea how likely funding is for students accepted to PSU? I didn't see much info on the website.
-
That is crazy about PSU. Any idea why they have soooo many people applying? I have basically ruled out any chance of getting accepted and have other great offers but I still just kinda wanna know.
-
Grrr. I called Portland State and they said they are hoping to get letters sent out by the end of the month... I'm worried that having to wait for their response might impact me because I have to mail in my acceptance of admission if I choose to go to UNM (rather than email) and that only gives me 2 weeks before the deadline and I would be sooo mad if something happened with mail getting lost or something and I ended up missing my chance.... I want to accept my admission at UNM now but my fiance is very set on waiting to hear from PSU first :-/

I was told by a PSU faculty member that they were hoping to get offers out around their spring break which starts March 23rd. I would guess they would want to get them out before so they don't have to deal with that over break. I was told CSDCAS had not verified some people academic update which was a major part of the delay. Thanks CSDCAS, good think you charged us $100

Can you get new funding your second year?
scisl006 replied to Eminee's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I would suggest contacting the school directly and asking them about possible second year funding. From what I have heard, most schools focus their funding on first year because second year you are likely going to have at least 1 semester with an off campus practicum working 40 hours a week in which case an added assistantship might be considered too taxing. As for taking a whole year off I would say that is highly unlikely but I do know of people at other schools who have spread the program across 3 years rather than 2 so they are able to hold a job. Just depends on the school I would guess. Good luck! -
I also applied to eastern and haven't heard anything. I have been accepted other places so I prolly wouldn't go there anyways though. Last year they didn't send out responses until the first week of April according to the stats page which I feel is a little ridiculous.

I feel like all thy can do is say no so it wouldn't hurt to ask. Especially if it's a top choice school and you have strong stats. All programs want the best people in their program.

Financial Aid Emails Before Acceptance?
scisl006 replied to ChatterBrain's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I got an email from the University of New Mexico saying they received my FAFSA info but that it appears I haven't yet been accepted.Yeah, I know... thanks for the reminder guys. As if I wasn't already thinking about that haha. -
I'm wondering if anyone attending PSU currently has heard anything about how the process is going/when we may be able to expect a decision? Also for those of you currently there, what do you think about the program? It's one of my top choice schools so I'm just ready to know what's happening. Thanks in advance!

good luck to you this time around! I hope it goes well for you!!

oh I didn't get rejected, just got an email saying it will be at least another 2 weeks til we find out. but thanks for the encouragement.

I was told at the end of February that PSU was waiting for CSDCAS to verify some people's academic updates and that they were hoping to send out notifications right around spring break (which for them is around the third week to fourth week of march) such a bummer as they are one of my top choices. Hoping things turn out a little sooner than that but who knows since they also reportedly got over 600 applications. :'( Any Portland Staters receive and insider info on how the process is coming along?
-
I reeeeallllly hope my letter for UNM gets here by the 13th (or the day before) I am leaving for Spring break that day!
-
Sighhh I just got the email as well sad day.
-
I was told by Dr. Traver (the graduate coordinator) in person when I visited. Shoot I hope we don't have to wait two weeks. I didn't get the email about the next two weeks. Hopefully something didn't come up. I saw someone post on the results page that they recieved a rejection today. I guess you never know.
-
I visited bowling green last week and they said decisions should be sent out at the end of this week for anyone anxiously awaiting a decision (like I know I am). Good luck everyone!
-
I saw someone recieved a rejection letter from Eastern today. Has any one else heard anything from them?
-
Got in now what? Step1) CELEBRATTTTTEEE!!!!!!!! Step2) plan the rest of life. So maybe not that helpful of advice hehe. but congrats!
-
Did anyone else apply to Bowling Green? I think we all got the email about hearing back by the end of February... really really hoping that happens.
-
I have been rock climbing two to three times a week. It is a great way to keep my mind off of things and also have tons of fun and get a good workout with all those wonderful wonderful endorphins! I am definitely guilty of checking my email a million times a day. Only a slight over exaggeration haha.

Fall 2015 Interview: St. Cloud State
scisl006 replied to NSSLHANerd's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I had a friend interview there last year and she said that they only interviewed 20people. No idea if that is the case again this year but if so your chances are probably really good! Good luck! -
Are you doing post-bacc or undergrad at PSU? hah yeah I definitely check it a lot more than I should as well, but it helps me feel like I can at least do something rather than sit around waiting. Well if you hear any updates about when to expect answers please feel free to let me know it would be much appreciated! Good luck to you! Stay strong!!
