  1. KSuverkrubbe, why do you think you've been rejected post your MICA interview? I thought they have yet to send anything out.
  2. Chiboi- ACCEPTED at Columbia, wait listed at YALE?! I would be doing cartwheels. Congrats!
  3. Page 93 is awesome. MICA email late afternoon from Chris Harring saying the notifications are going out over the weekend, and thanking us for waiting it out. Sounds like they send out acceptances via mail. Anyone hear anything else from them?
  4. Yeah, that sounds about right...my interviewer said they would be doing presentations/ voting on us on the 17th.
  5. Wow congrats, and I know what you mean. It will be interesting to see what the offer. Very steep tuition as you said. Smart of you to wait and reapply again to other programs.
  6. Did anyone else apply for American U? The program is growing and DC is a cool place right now. Have no idea where I'm going. I was told Carnegie Mellon is deliberating on the 17th. Trying to wait it out til then.
  7. Wow the USC stuff is so fascinating. I would be torn wanting to get my $ back or just go and get with that legacy and be in LA! I realize this is not the least but helpful. LOL. Just saying. I feel for you guys.
  8. Hi- Yes, a friend interviewing with Film/Video received her informal acceptance email the following day. Not sure about the other departments.
  9. I'm sure I'll be rejected based on the interview but thank you! To expound, all of us in our 2-hour window were brought in at the same time and it was instantly very social, much like the program is described. You're thrown in together to socialize and meet everyone all at once just prior to interviewing. Kind of like church before or after the service. Everyone was smiling and very friendly, so it was pretty cool and scary at the same time. The interview was quite cold and daunting, however. Otherwise, a very sexy friendly art cult. Many interviewees were also accepted to Yale, Columbia & UCLA.
  10. Congrats to everyone getting acceptances! My Bard interview wasn't great. :-/ The train commute upstate in all the snow was a little magical and several people likened it to going to Hogwarts. It is a very interesting place. However I keep reminding myself it's a whole lot of $ for very little program, in spite of the awesome connections. Made some instant friends through the near cult-like intro day. A girl I met got her acceptance email the very next day.
  11. That's awesome! Art & Tech sounds so great, and smart!
  12. Maybe whoever I spoke with didn't know what they were talking about. I thought it sounded crazy too.
  13. That's hilarious! OK. I feel you on the DREAMS. How many dreams have you guys had about grad school since applying? It's amazing how anxiety translates to the dream state. So far I've had about 3-4 dreams about acceptances, rejections, etc. Interestingly, they are all about the same school....which wasn't even my top choice initially. But it's kind of like having a sexy dream about someone you didn't necessarily like and then you suddenly cannot stop thinking romantically about that person. Now all I want is that program. University of XXX.
  14. Aw, thanks. It was an in-depth, yet very casual interview. Thought it went really well. But they said 21 finalists are competing for 7 spots...yowzers!
  15. Columbia said if we haven't heard from them at this point, we're out of the game. They don't even send out rejection notices they said (wth). After living in NY for several years, the fact that we paid 125-ish bux to have our work looked at for...half a minute maybe...doesn't get more quintessentially NYC than that!
  16. I felt the same way, but then it all happened super fast. Was contacted by email last night and then had my interview shortly after (today). You'll see! The person I interviewed with was fantastic. I'm in love with everything CMU.
  17. I was informed that different CMU faculty have been assigned to contact semi-finalists based upon their interest in their work. If you haven't heard from yours they're still just probably getting around to it.
  18. If you have not yet received a notice of rejection, you're probably a finalist & they should be contacting you soon. Don't worry!
  19. Same here!! Just got the email. Whew!!
  20. Ha!! You're funny. Way to be proactive. Feel better? Hope so! More waiting….trying not stress eat.
  21. That's awesome! Congrats! It's still silent over here.
  22. Go get em Milkyways.
  23. My Slideroom says 'Fall 2015 CMU MFA Program'. Is that what yours says too?
  24. Right!? I couldn't take it anymore, so I called today (yep, I'm a caller.) I told the woman I spoke with (possibly Keni Jefferson) that I understood some people have received emails or calls. She said I should have also. She took my name and whatever she saw, made her say that I should be getting a call from someone. I asked did she mean a non-rejection-type call, and she said yes. At first I was ecstatic and then after the call it still left me baffled and uncertain as to why no one has called yet. What are the odds of all of us who haven't heard anything getting interviews, you know? That would be awesome, but, of course I'm thinking the worst- that she was just seeing something by mistake, there was some glitch, that maybe they were considering me and changed their minds, or maybe they're still narrowing things down. I called this morning and still crickets all day. I'm on the edge of my seat over here. CMU hopefuls, I don't believe it will hurt to call and check on your status. If there is a glitch they'd probably want to know. Very best of luck guys.
