  1. Check your SPAM folder. I was getting worried as well because I had not received an email about financial aid, but then I found it in my SPAM. It was sent at 12:50 but I didn't even see it until about 2pm!
  2. FYI University offices do not close during Spring Break. Only the students are off during that time. So, I do not think that will affect the decision release date.
  3. I hope it's tomorrow! I don't know if my heart can handle waiting til next week...
  4. I received the same email. Does anyone know how Yale handles funding announcements? Will we find out that day or later?
  5. Like many of you, I am anxiously awaiting news from Harvard! From looking at the results page, it looks like Harvard sends out responses as early as March 13th, and then into the 14th and 15th. Do you think that they will contact students over the weekend (since the 14th is a Saturday and the 15th is next Sunday)? In the past two years or so, the 13th-15th has not fallen on a weekend, so I was wondering if anyone had any insight. Thanks!
  6. Just received an email from Union Theological Seminary offering me admission to the Mdiv program! Should expect to hear back about financial aid and scholarships by mid-March.
  7. It looks like someone posted on the results page that they were accepted to Vanderbilt M.Div... on the 17th... I thought Vanderbilt was closed on that day...
  8. I know that in years past Duke Divinity had an option of doing your first "field placement" the summer before you started classes (for Mdiv students). Many people took advantage of this for reasons similar to yours. I'm not sure if Duke still does it, or if any other schools offer the same opportunities, but it's worth asking about. Another option to look into is moving as soon as you reply to the school and starting work in the same town where you will be living and taking classes. My friend did this a few years ago right after she decided she would be going to Union Theological Seminary in the fall. A week or so after replying that she wanted to attend, she moved to NYC and found a job near UTS. She was able to work all summer and save money for school, while also having the advantage of learning the neighborhood before classes began. If I were you, I would contact the schools that you applied to now and see what suggestions they have. Good luck!
  9. Oh gosh! I'm sorry to cause any panic... I actually applied to the Duke "Early Deadline" on November 1st and they emailed me my acceptance on December 19th. So, it was about 7 weeks before they got back to me.
  10. Hey all! I applied to Duke, Union Theological, Vanderbilt, Yale, and Harvard for their Master of Divinity program (all by the priority deadlines) and have already heard back from Duke and Yale! Did anyone else apply to any of these schools? I know that Harvard is pretty consistant with their mid-March responses for applicants, but I was wondering if anyone else knows when to expect a response from the others. I am now spending more time checking my email and looking at my phone for missed calls than I ever have in my whole life. I just keep reminding myself to breathe...
