  1. Well, I guess I'm not a 100% sure but someone I know was accepted via phone and the person who called her said they were calling those who were accepted. So I'm assuming that everyone else will receive a letter in the mail stating a rejection or wait list. This is indeed very depressing for me as well.
  2. Monmouth called all the those who were accepted. I tried to post this before but I don't think it went through. Unfortunately I didn't get a call either
  3. Unfortunately being an SLPA doesn't seem to help. I Have been an SLPA for five years and have gained a lot of great experience. My undergrad GPA was a 3.3 and I also have a masters degree in Special Education in which I obtained a GPA of 3.75. You would think that already having a master's degree and valuable experience would help me get into grad school for speech but so far I've been rejected from all but one and I'm expecting another rejection this week:( I am also bilingual. Unfortunately this field is so competitive and it's ridiculous and very discouraging.
  4. I completely agree! It's such crap. I wish they would tell me already so I can move on with my life haha!
  5. I didn't even get an interview. I'm assuming I am rejected but have heard nothing!
  6. Has anyone else applied to St. Rose and not heard anything?
  7. I also applied to the summers only track. I'm currently an SLPA and I live out of state. I'm not exactly the ideal candidate in terms of GPA and GRE scores but I'm still hoping to be considered. I haven't heard anything back from them yet besides the initial emails saying that my application has been submitted. I'm hoping to hear something this week, I'm going crazy!
  8. If you don't mind me asking, when did you hear from NAU? I Still haven't heard a thing!
  9. Koukla19 I was wondering when you heard back from St. Rose? Im in your boat. I applied to a bunch with a not so high GPA and terrible GRE scores. I'm assuming I will be rejected from St. Rose as well but I still haven't heard anything from them.
  10. I applied to the part time summer program but haven't heard anything yet. Anyone know of any acceptances going out for that yet?
  11. Good to know! Thank you for sharing. Been frantically checking my email all day LOL!
  12. Congratulations that is awesome! Did you receive and email? I'm still waiting to here. I really hope I get in! I'm an SLPA already so the part time program would be perfect for me!
  13. @mia6741 Congrats! Did you apply for the full time program or part time at NAU? I applied there as well but to the part time summer program.
  14. I am currently working as an SLPA and absolutely love it! I couldn't get into grad school right off the bat so I actually got a masters in SPED and reapplied to grad school for speech for fall 2015. I'm not sure if it will help me or not already having a masters degree but I sure hope so. Either way I love being an SLPA. I work with children and have had the opportunity to work with a variety of different cases and disorders without having to test and write reports. The experience I have gained has been amazing. If I don't get into school this time around I wont be devastated because I love my job. If you can't get into school, give an SLPA position a try. I think that you will love it too. Good Luck!
  15. I didn't apply there but I applied to another school with the same instructions. After the deadline for CSDCAS, the school emailed me with instructions to complete the supplemental application. I believe you should have received one already. Most of the deadlines have passed. I would call or email the school right away and ask. I hope it's not too late for you! Good luck!
  16. Hi Everyone, I too would like to share my experience. I am currently working as a Speech and Language Assistant in an inner city school district. I have been for the last five years. My dream has always been to be a SLP but like some of you have shared, I too was rejected upon initially applying grad school. I decided to go back to school for Special Ed because I wanted to obtain a master's degree one way or the other. In my district, having a master's degree also gives you a pay raise. So I received my master's in SPED in December 2013 and graduated with a 3.74 gpa. I do not want to be a teacher. I am in love with the speech and language field and I only obtained this degree to further my education (considering most of my students I currently work with are SPED students) and receive the pay raise. I have applied to go back to grad school for speech in the hope that already having a master's degree and proving I can complete master's level work with a decent gpa will help me get accepted. I don't know if this will help me or not but I am sure hoping it will! Either way I LOVE my job and I love the speech field. I can't imagine myself doing anything else. I say if your dream is speech than stick with it - maybe see if you can find a job working as an SLPA like me. I haven't gotten accepted to any schools yet and I'm not sure if I will either. Maybe obtaining a master's and reapplying will help! Who knows?! I'll keep you all posted!
  17. I recently go rejected from UNC Chapel Hill. So I believe they are sending out rejections first lol.
  18. @asdfghjk_38 Yes I received that email as well after I had made myself crazy about what I was going to say and finally sat down and did it! Ok good I'm glad to hear others are in the same boat.
  19. Hi all! Has anyone applied to Monmouth university? If so have you heard anything from them? I was asked to do an online video interview a while back but never heard anything after that.
