  1. Yeah, that's a great idea. Call up and be rude to someone who is already drowning in voicemail, snail mail, email, etc. with people who (all perfectly innocently, but it piles up) all want to know the same thing. Patience, folks. I know it's frustrating, but getting angry about it isn't going to help anything.
  2. Dude. You ran the table on all your applications which include a bunch of ludicriously-hard-to-get-into schools. Nice.
  3. Yeah, it's concerning, certainly, but according to their program literature, everyone is funded in years 2-4. While not being funded 1st year would be rather unfortunate, it's not the end of the world--as schools go, it's a bargain, too. All that said I'd love to have funding same as you. Good luck to both of us!
  4. You got a funding offer at UVA? I thought they hadn't announced anything yet; letter said they'd do it in April. Sucks for me, but good for you
  5. According to the admissions letter I got, UVA makes funding decisions in April. Last year's admissions thread isn't terribly helpful in determining what UVA funding has historically looked like (though I know they're thought of as being less generous than others). Can anybody who's been through this process clue me in? According to the results page, we're -all- awaiting funding decisions there. On the plus side, now I have something else to be nervous about
  6. In at UVA! (American Politics) I'm thrilled.
  7. Huh. Double posted somehow; sorry.
  8. I still haven't heard anything from them. I'll try and call around 3:30 EST today because I really don't want to have to wait another 3 days...
  9. Congrats to both you UVAs! I'm still waiting to hear back. Not accepted, but at least not rejected yet, either.
  10. That would make the database much smaller and therefore less useful. Sure, there's occasional pranksters, but people shouldn't be obligated to make a forum account to give us useful data. Honestly, if we weren't in the throes of admissions season RIGHT NOW, I suspect everyone would agree that an anonymous db is the best way to go.
  11. How frustrating. I simply cannot get a live human on the phone over in graduate admissions at UVA. 'grats to the UT-Austin folks; that one'll be on my list next year should UVA fall through.
  12. Literally the exact same thing happened to me. I can't imagine working in an admissions office. The Dec-Feb period must just be an absolute nightmare. Going to try and call today. Fingers crossed for both of us
  13. Thanks. I gather UVA is different than most other schools who use this application software, since they've got this note on the page: *Please be aware that your application status will remain "incomplete" even if all required materials have been submitted and received by the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. So I'm not worried about the "Incomplete".
  14. UVA folks (including Brouhaha): There's a handful of rejections posted via website. How does that look? If I log in, it still says Submission Status: Submitted/Application Status: Incomplete. Is there somewhere else I need to look?
  15. Y'know, someone not claiming a particular admit doesn't make the admit any less true, much as we all wish it would from time-to-time. I'm certain there's not a 1:1 overlap between admits/rejections and forum posters here. Nor should there have to be. I think a lot of us are starting to fall into the trap of "if nobody posted, it didn't happen!" which is silly. Understandable, but silly.
