  1. I just wrapped up my Undergrad at UofT, in Psych Major, Linguistics and Theatre Minors. Classes to look out for, which will really boost your application are: Research and Service in Communication Disorders - You'll wrack in a lot of volunteer hours in this one, and the work load is reasonable. You'll get to network with a lot of similar minded applicants. Adult Language Disorders Child Language Disorders Start up on getting volunteer experience early if you can, and look in unusual places. UofT likes to see that you have experience with both adult and child populations. I received personal messages from profs from Western and McGill this year, because of the volunteering I've done in voice clinics (which is a smaller SLP specialty). Even consider emailing a researcher in the SLP department who's research you like, friends of mine have volunteered in the past, and say it's been a really valuable experience.
  2. Hey! I'm currently a student at UofT who went through the same process as you! If you want more info about UofT opportunities, let me know and I can point you in the right direction.
  3. There's a UofT housing Facebook group that's a pretty good place to start! Finding apartments in Toronto is always a last-minute kind of process.
  4. I'd like to write a thesis as part of my M.Sc.A and I've made a connection with one of McGill's professors to supervise me. Plus, I'm hoping to specialize in voice disorders and rehabilitation, and McGill's program provides the most extracurricular exposure and opportunity to this specialty. Added bonus, I'm using the two years to become officially bilingual. All in all, I fully believe it's less the program you attend, and more the opportunities you make out of your program. Montreal seems like a great new adventure for me at this point in my life. I've participated in a lot of programming at UofT the past 2 years (I'm a student there), and the profs really are world class. So don't doubt your decision. There's great teachers, and amazing clinics associated with their program!
  5. Officially a M.Sc.A. at McGill. Spots have opened up at UofT and Western . Any other McGill-er's on here?
  6. What do peoples' registration statuses say on the UofT website? I know a few days ago there was nothing listed. Mine shows up as "invited" now.
  7. Hey Guys. Congrats on all the acceptances. Just to let people know, McGill isn't consistently giving phone calls. I got my acceptance today around 3:30 via email. Calls may only be a within-province thing. Keep your hopes up, there still may be more coming
