My ROSI still says no registration history. What is the "3rd wave"? Does it mean that they are reviewing in batches or that we're like...3rd choice?
Not sure what to make of it but from what I understand they have three waves of acceptances. What determines which wave you're accepted in is what I'm not sure about. 1st choice or 3rd choice how beer doesn't matter much once you're accepted!

Did only one person on here see a ROSI update today? Hoping the 3rd wave isn't over with.

Yes I agree, but then there is one more round! Which hopefully is soon...good luck let us know if you hear back.
If I don't get in I might go for the hsbw next year so finding out about that gave me hope about my future. Any idea when the last wave will be? I know this is all speculation but it's fun to set goals not to check until a certain day, gets a little less obssessive.
The last round should be next week hopefully! i'll definitely post on here when I find out anything. Its so hard to study for my finals with this whole uncertainty going on right now.

For those who were accepted in previous years, did you have a lot of research experience?
the only research experience I've had was based on my 6 credit field research class...which was self directed but nothing formal or published.
Other than that no research so I'm a bit worried that will be my demise.
As for experience I was an outreach worker in Montreal and did social circus with youth living involved in street related activities. And am really interested in circus arts based research but maybe that's too out there for u of t.
i was going a bit crazy so figured I'd post. Good luck!! April is almost here.. Bitter sweet
The only research experience I have is my undergrad thesis. And an A in research methods. We're in a similar boat!
I have to bank on my experience outside of research as well as my GPA/statements.
However not hearing from them after the first 2 rounds is certainly discouraging. -

Has anyone who applied to U of T been rejected yet?
not as far as I know. I think the rejections/waitlist notifications will go out after the last round of acceptances so maybe in the next 3-4 weeks

Hey, I did not apply to U of T because to be honest Toronto makes my anxiety sky rocket haha !! But, I think your application sounds great!! Your GPA is unreal, and I think that your experience in a retirement home will serve your application well. Do you want to focus on geriatrics? Everyone is lacking something, very few of us are perfect, if my case I think my number of hours is mediocre but the experiance is great and unique! I come from studio art so I had no chance at getting research experiance. This might hurt me, I am not sure! However, I think they accept people from all different backgrounds because they do want different types of social workers! Don't be hard on yourself, where there is a will there is a way
Thank you for making me feel better I actually want to specialize in mental health & health, that could definitely include geriatrics as well, as I've found their mental health to be somewhat neglected in our society. I think you doing art-based therapy is wonderful, and it definitely makes you stand out as an individual in terms of your application. Research is experience is something we can both gain if it comes down to that, I think it's a valuable asset no matter what.
Lets keep our fingers crossed. Its not over until its over (and if it is, theres always next year :)) -

Also, a friend of mine got an acceptance to the 2 yr at U of T around April 22 last yr so there's still hope if you haven't heard back so far (this is the only thing keeping me sane rn)
this gives me hope. I think after the first 2 waves though I've slowly accepted that whatever happens happens, and theres always things I can fix in my application and always more experience that can benefit me! I have a 3.9 gpa in my last year, about 1000 hours of unpaid work in the social service field, and 3000 hours of paid work at a retirement home (been there 5 years now), but my missing element is that I have no research experience (besides my thesis and an A in research methods) and I'm understanding that UofT obviously values research extremely highly. It's so easy to go from confident to completely discouraged really quick

I want to pull all my hair out.
I'm in my last semester and getting through these final exams is killing me because my future is so up in the air.
I really hate this huge gap of waiting time we're given to find out. My good friend is applying to physiotherapy in Ontario and every applicant finds out on May 20th whether they've been accepted rejected or waitlisted. I would much rather it be that way as opposed to this long gruelling process. -
hahahah looks like theres a lot of us waiting for U of T. It's killing me

I am really hoping for today or Monday! Fingers and toes crossed!
doesn't look like it's today the stress is killing. the good thing is we can have a stress-free weekend knowing we won't hearing until at least Monday.

Does anyone know why schools do "rounds" of admissions?
i was under the impression it was to see how many accept from the first round, and then they go from there. I could be wrong though!

patiently waiting for the 2nd wave of UofT admissions.........ahhhhhh it hurts

They'll likely send out more offers by late next week...or perhaps in 2 weeks. Last year they sent out a second batch of offers 10 days after the first one
Perfect. Thanks! Back to the waiting game...:(

Just want to see if anyone else has seen a change in their ROSI status for the 2 year MSW, I'm assuming they'll send out more offers next week?

Guys, my ROSI says nothing so far
Does that mean I'm not in?
Neither does mine, I think we should give up checking for today since its already 4:30 basically.
Acceptances will come in waves. Lets not give up hope its only been a day! -

Do all the acceptances for U of T MSW 2 yr typically go out all on the same day?
I hope not. From what I know they go out in waves.

CONGRATS TO ALL THOSE ACCEPTED though!!!!! i'm still anxiously going to wait this out. -

Gahhhhh I'm going crazy! U of T could send out offers THIS WEEK! Offers were sent out on the second Friday of March for the 2 year program last year which would be the equivalent of March 11th this year. I'm trying not to get my hopes up to hear back this week, but I can't help but think that the offers could be going out soon! I really hope to hear back from at least one school by Friday...
That makes two of us going crazy.

March is here. Few more days until UofT 2-year MSW offers start pouring in. Last year the first offer went out on the second Friday of March (on ROSI, not by mail), so my guess is this time the first one might go out by March 11. Just started getting nervous
haha!! you just made me even more nervous. I need the wait to end already

Thanks, Ballym385. Might as well send them an updated version. It isn't very much but definitely more hours. I had just begun volunteering with one program and have done some more work, as well as my two current paid positions. I guess the worst that can happen is they don't include it.
Someone posted earlier in this forum that they contacted Angela about sending updated resumes and she replied that they will only be looking at the hours up until December.

Glad to know i'm, not the only one freaking out about the 2 year MSW at U of T. I check Rosi like 10x a day haha! even though it's still too early.

omg exactly. Thank you so much for understanding! I am totally annoying my friends and family with these thoughts... its wild. But yes, you are totally right. We NEED to focus on this semester, the here and now. Maybe we should just forget about it until April? Anything we hear earlier is just a pleasant surprise!! What are you applying for? PS. if anyone else is applying for the 1 year BSW at Waterloo, applications are being reviewed as we speak.
I've only applied to the 2 year MSW at U of T. The program pretty much fits my interests perfectly, and i've applied to collaborate in Addiction Studies, which is the area I wish to pursue after graduation. People heard back in mid-march last year so until then I think i'm going to try my best to forget about it. I have 2 courses plus the second half of my honours thesis to worry about right now (all the data analysis and fun stuff). It's nice to know you're not alone in these things!!
Best of luck to you -

Is this waiting game killing anyone else? I am having a really hard time focusing on my current semester I hope to hear something soon but I know that is probably unrealistic...
I'm definitely having a hard time focusing on my classes this semester. We're in the same boat! It's hard but you have to somehow not focus on the future because what I'm telling myself is that if I don't get in, my GPA is at stake with these classes so I'll regret not trying my hardest or remaining focused.

Anyone know when 2 year MSW acceptances for U of T started to roll in last year? I never paid attention to last year's forum and theres too many pages for me to dig through
