No! Remember the invites are slotted to start after January 4th... So I wouldn't assume anything until the end of January. You never can really tell what's going on behind closed doors. Plus their offices are closed until then so they are not doing any notifications until after that date. Don't worry, enjoy your holidays, and join the rest of us trying to forget this whole thing for a bit.

I want to say that you probably took my response wrong. I wasn't accusing you, i was trying to figure out a weird situation. Especially why the prof would stop answering. He could easily have made the same assumption especially since your family was involved. I'm sorry you were offended.

I'm... Not sure why your family was involved at all. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you're saying that your family was trying to back door you into the program through this guy. He did not respond to you, so I think you should let it go. And in the future, don't let your family get involved because they are looking for highly motivated people that are self sufficient. I could be interpreting this wrong, but it seems like maybe he responded to your family member out of courtesy and then ignored you.

It would be very rude to snub school A like that, so don't do it unless you actually have minimal interest in the program. And you can't "pop in anytime" because they are scheduling faculty interviews that you requested...

Okay, I know this is nitpicky but I was going over my Stanford app and it had said in the poster section that you should include every entry in a single line separated by semi colons with no extra carriage returns... I copied and pasted from my cv that had formatting and apparently either forgot to make it one line or my attempts failed. Do you think this will be a huge issue?

I'm sure too. (And even if it weren't true, I was going to hold onto January 4th regardless.) I just wanted the other person to hear a perspective of a person who freaked out then decided not to.

I can't answer your questions beyond what was written above. It does seem like that home program did send out some invites, at least, and I don't know if more are forthcoming. But their office is now closed until the date when they said the January invites will come out. One person who got an invite responded to me above (I think they got one) and they copied and pasted Stanford's schpeel about "no news =/= bad news." I've decided to remain hopeful and then get the results, whatever they may be, in January. Especially since there's no one to definitively answer any questions.

That's reassuring. I guess the immunology track (not Microbiology & Immunology) releases in January. I don't see it on the results forum but still makes me nervous. I actually appreciate their candid information.

And now there are people posting in the results survey about Stanford Biosciences invites... I thought those were supposed to come after January 4th. EDIT: I found this in an email: "During the week of January 4, 2016, the committees will start to contact applicants who have been selected for an interview." All hope is not lost!

Yeah, it'll get better again. This does not in any way change how excited I am to go to the three I do have.

Yeah I know what you mean. Now I've only got Stanford and Rockefeller left. And if I got rejected Harvard and UCSF, how would I stand a chance at either Stanford or Rockefeller?

Just heard back from UCSF BMS coordinator... All the invites were sent on Wednesday. Sorry to everyone who didn't get one and congratulations to those who did.

I had a friend who got an invite to the BMS track I applied to... but he's a Cali resident. Do you think it'll really matter for UCSF/Stanford?

Now I just want to get the UCSF reject as well. I was going to call the coordinator but... I am barely holding onto hope that the BMS invites aren't all out. EDIT: I didn't call because it's still 7:30 AM there. I will call later and post what the guy says. But if someone beats me to it, feel free to post. I'd love to know. I have to take my dog to the vet for a checkup

I called harvard immunology... invites went out yesterday. I'm really disappointed.

Haha that's literally the Harvard weekend and the Princeton weekend... whyyyy. But thank you so much for your help! It actually gives me more peace of mind to know that they are coming out.

Ugh. Oh well, it's in the hands of the committee now and there's nothing we can do. I really appreciate your response because sometimes it's hard to tell the people who make trouble from those who are real. Although I do believe you because that's the interview date they told me today when I called to see if there would be a potential conflict. What was the date(s) for the UCSF immunology BMS? These are my only dates I haven't penciled in to anticipate conflicts. (Not that I have an interview lol)

I'm really hoping that the Harvard one was fake. I'm also hoping that the UCSF immunology track post was fake too. Everyone who has gotten the invite hasn't been in that track except that one guy on the results. GRRRRRRRRR.
