  1. bethanyr, I've got fingers crossed for both of us!! You know, I don't think schools like being contacted about that stuff, and thats why they will just ignore your email when you ask. I was ignored from another school when I asked when we would get decisions. LOL. They probably get so many people asking. I wonder if our status means they are still deciding about us? and I also wonder if rutgers has interviews. I visited there, so i am an idiot for not asking them about that.
  2. hello everyone who was accepted to Rutgers....I am very very happy for you, but could you all do me a tiny favor? I just checked my application status online, and it says under decision "no decision." Does yours say "accepted?" I am wondering why some people have been accepted already, yet I have not been rejected yet. Keeping up hope because I love Rutgers.
  3. duuude I also applied to ccny. apparently last year people didn't hear from them until the end of march-ish so I wasn't expecting to hear yet. I don't know anything at all about the program there....I was like, o hey! cheap tuition, and NYC location, so I went ahead and applied. I tried contacting them about visiting but they were unresponsive about that. I you have any info then I'd like to hear...assuming that I might get accepted. sorry about CMU...It hurts to be rejected, I've experienced that 3 times now, and all in the same week.
  4. I've got fingers crossed for Hunter as well. Best luck to you. I think I'm also rejected from SAIC...but I'm pissed that they won't just tell us already!
  5. You guys are right. You don't have to be right out of your BFA to make it work. I still have 6 more schools to hear from, and one acceptance so I've got a good 6 weeks or so to make a decision on whether or not to wait a few years. In about 4 weeks, I'll be asking everyone on this forum's advice, and I'm sure other people will be needing advice as well!
  6. I know someone who has already been accepted there. I don't know when they were notified.
  7. I am pretty darned positive I'm rejected from SAIC, but I really wish they would just send me the letter already. I know the interviews are in like a week. Congrats to everyone who has been accepted to Rutgers! Do you all think it would be rude if I emailed admissions and asked them why I haven't heard my status yet since others have?
  8. As usual you and I are in the exact same boat. It'll either happen this year, or in like 2-4 years. But I am starting to take in what people are saying about they wouldn't have gotten as much out of the education if they went straight out of their BFA. I feel like I have sooooo much more development that I could do on my own....but I suppose that could happen in an MFA program as well. I'm just really eager to have a nice studio all to myself and just work non-stop for two years with professors and other students to talk to. I'm worried that if I wait, then it will be harder to go. I may be settled into my job, or even married or something. At age 23, my parents will feel bad for me being broke and will give me some grocery money. At age 30? Hmmm definitely not. Plus I am so excited and full of energy at this point! But whatever happens, happens.
  9. No one is a bigger f****ing idiot than me....on two of my apps, (hopefully just those two) in my SOP's I spelled three-dimensional wrong. You would never believe I won second place in a spelling bee in 5th grade. Damn spellcheck has ruined me...and somehow it wasn't working when I wrote my statements.
  10. rejection letter from ut austin today via snail mail....poo. it said in the letter there were 236 applicants for only 8 spots!
  11. Oh no, I'm sorry :-(. Did you get the letter in the mail or email? I'm waiting for mine still!
  12. I already asked a ton before I applied, but now I have more specific ones, and I forgot to write things down so I forget the answers to some.
  13. Here is my opinion, and I only applied to SVA out of the 3. I visited SVA, had a professor who went to Parsons, and Pratt I don't know as much about, except that it's in a terrible neighborhood from what I hear. I am a semi-traditional painter, so you might wonder why I applied to SVA because they have a lot of super conceptual people, but not everyone is oober conceptual, they do also have painters. I loved SVA because they have a wide range of different work, which is really cool. In one studio you will walk in, and there are bright and representational oil paintings, and then you walk into another studio, and there's absolutely nothing in there because the work is so conceptual that the artist brings in a few materials, and then leaves with them. They are open to everything. They also claim to have gallery owners walking through their studios to check out student work!! Downside of SVA is probably going to be the $$$. I heard that Parsons is expensive, but might give more scholarships. My professor who went there is more traditional/ representational figurative painter. She was not extremely conceptual.
  14. so, question for everyone: once you get accepted somewhere, how soon is too soon to start asking them 101 questions about their program? I don't want to be annoying
  15. whatever hair dresser cut that chick's hair should be sued
  16. seriously? Take me with you!!!
  17. I was trying to do the same, but I couldn't figure it out either. Plus, when people replied to my posts, I couldn't delete that at all anyways :-/
  18. Hey guys, I changed my profile name and took my work down after reading what you all are saying about schools looking at this forum. I haven't said anything bad, but regardless it creeps me out so from here on I'm anonymous! (spelling?)
  19. Where are you seeing this status change thing in slideroom? PS the forum causes me less anxiety because I kind of expect whether or not I am rejected. It made opening my two rejection letters much easier since I already kinda knew.
  20. rejection letter today from Purchase :-(
  21. same, I have no idea what everyone is talking about. All of mine just said how much I paid and what day I submitted.
  22. Anyone else apply to U. of Delaware? I saw that last year they had notified that they were making decisions by 2/19. I didn't get any notification from them about reviews from this year. FFF I should have checked with them to make sure they had all my materials. Anyone else hear from them yet this year?
  23. I haven't heard yet either....I am thinking it's a bad sign. O well. I've got 7 more schools besides SAIC to still hear from.
  24. orangetrousers, you have no reason to be down...yea you had rejections, but they were like top 5 most selective programs! It's not your portfolio....it's the fact that they are the most selective programs who will be rejecting the most people.
  25. That's poo :-( I got rejected too. you always know before opening it if it's good or bad news...acceptance letters are always big packets, and rejections are always small. Funny how they always say good things come in small packages, because clearly that's not the case.
