  1. I was unsuccessful (but at least I was not disqualified). Score of 3.4, ranked 54/110 (ouch). Time to go drown my sorrows in a glass of whiskey. Wishing everyone else a successful outcome.
  2. I'm so sorry the news wasn't what you hoped. Ranked 35/94 is still pretty awesome and these awards appear to be somewhat arbitrary. I know for my SSHRC doctorate award I did not win the first time around but did the second time, with very little change to my application. Again, I'm so sorry to hear your news. Take good care of yourself today.
  3. Thanks. I did get emails and completed all annual reporting. It was the final achievement report I did not get in before the deadline because I did not realize it was outstanding. I didn’t receive any reminders about it from the U or SSHRC. I’ll stay hopeful for a day or two until I receive my letter. Thanks again! ?
  4. According to Canada Post: Delivery times are: In the same city - 2 business days In the same province - 3 business days nationally - 4 business days **** states date of mailing does not count so today would be day 1. PeaDev - tomorrow should be the day! ?
  5. Thank you! ❤️ I have to say that I am grateful and humbled by the support given on this board. Good luck to everyone!
  6. Thank you! ❤️ I appreciate you sharing. This is very positive news!
  7. Thanks so much for the kind words. I appreciate it. At this point, there’s not much to do but wait. I don’t mind being unsuccessful going up against others as I know you and everyone else who have applied are incredible researchers. It’s losing to my own error that’s unbelievably frustrating. Good luck and I hope you’re successful! Looking forward to reading everyone’s good news this week! ❤️
  8. I did email them Friday looking for clarification on the policy (I.e. am I automatically disqualified or can still be awarded postdoc conditional on submission of outstanding report). They told me to wait for the letter. I responded asking for just general clarification on SSHRC policy and they told me they will not respond to any questions until I have my letter. So frustrating! I didn’t realize the final report was outstanding (I received reminder emails and completed all other reporting). I just have to wait and see what the letter says.
  9. I received mine in 2016 and received the email regarding the changing format of the final report in January of 2018 (my award ended in May 2019). I’m not sure if it’s new (I’m not sure where my notice of award is - probably in a box as I moved). Hopefully it was instituted after so you’re in the clear.
  10. I do hope you are right and that it’s the overachiever, crazy-making nerd brain that has me freaking out. But it says ‘ineligible to hold funding’. I’m going to hold onto the hope I’m overreacting (academics are notorious for forgetting details like these kinds of reports right?). So glad I posted now. You’ve talked me down off the ledge.
  11. Nope I didn’t get an email reminder. I was talking with someone and they mentioned doing their report. I knew I had never done one. Went to the website and sure enough...link to achievement report for cgs-d under talent competitions and then the notification that I outlined above. I even rechecked my email but I received nothing from the U or SSHRC reminding me I had a report due or even that I missed the deadline. I received an email from SSHRC in January of 2018 indicating the new format of the final report with a link, but that was so long ago I of course totally forgot. I’m sorry you are in the same boat. Hopefully it’s not that we were immediately disqualified but that if we were awarded a postdoc no funds will be released until the outstanding reports are submitted. I’m so, so frustrated that SSHRC refused to provide clarification on the policy to me when I asked for it. Now I’m in limbo and terrified. Sorry if I did that to you as well.
  12. Thank you. Maybe there is hope but on the reporting page it states ‘if you have outstanding reporting requirements you are ineligible for future funding until outstanding reports are complete’. My only glimpse of hope is that if I was successful that my holding an award is conditional on my fulfilling the outstanding requirements (which I did already once I realized my mistake). It sounds to me like ‘ineligible’ suggests I was automatically disqualified. I emailed SSHRC on Friday to ask for clarification on the policy and they told me I would have to wait for my letter before they would answer any questions. I’m assuming the worst.
  13. Good luck everyone. I think I am automatically out of luck. I realized (literally yesterday when the letters went out) that I had never submitted my final report for my doctoral award which I believe automatically disqualifies me. I was so worried about defence, revisions, and submitting postdoc and employment applications that I totally forgot about it. You have 6 months, but my 6 months were up at the end of November. I'm feeling pretty devastated that I am going to lose out based on my own ineptitude rather than the quality of my application (although I may very well have been unsuccessful anyway). I hope letters come quickly for you all and that you have great success.
