  1. OMG is right!!! SO tempted to e-mail my university to try and find out, although my understanding is that they are not supposed to release the results. Scott212 - it appears from your post you have received OGS info already? Ours is not going to be released until next Friday. Groan! Okay I broke down and e-mailed my university. I'm 90% certain they won't tell me, but what the hell? Nothing ventured, nothing gained!
  2. Thanks for the information everyone! I hope you all get good news. Waiting anxiously for the SSHRC tweet that the results are in the mail. Then comes the worst part - running to check the mailbox everyday hoping for news
  3. Hi everyone, I have a question that I'm hoping someone can answer. This is my second time applying, so do I still qualify for a CGS-doctoral scholarship ($35,000) or only the fellowship ($20,000)? At application time I was just starting second year, but now I am hoping to complete my degree by spring 2018 which is 2 years from now. The scholarship says $35,000 for 3 years.
  4. They usually tweet when they are mailed. I agree with those of you who suggested they will likely be mailed Friday. I am soooo anxious for the wait to be over. Hopefully people on the forum will be busy posting that they have received their letters next week
  5. Hi DanielaM, Yes, unfortunately we get the results via snail mail. They are usually mailed out last week of April and most have their results by the end of that last week or the first few days of May. Good luck!
  6. Thanks Lackingpatience! Best of luck to you and I hear what you are saying....I feel like I might lose my mind as well. Hopefully the time goes by quickly!
  7. Okay, I've been patient up until now......6 week countdown is on. I was waitlisted last year and am hoping that this year I will get an award. Good luck to everyone else waiting. I know these next few weeks are going to be agonizing for everyone
  8. So I received OGS - which is good news - better than nothing . Just wondering if anyone knows what happens if I miraculously get bumped off the waitlist for SSHRC (as I have accepted OGS)?
  9. I was waitlisted with no publications. I think they take into consideration where you are in your program (i.e. if you are a first year PhD you are less likely to have published than someone in their second or third year). I think it also matters which selection committee you are reviewed by as well. My understanding is that the committee which reviews psychology apps receives many more applications then say the committee that reviews the humanities apps, so competition is much stiffer (i.e. you need a higher score to qualify for funding).
  10. Sorry to hear you are still waiting. That does not make sense! Hopefully it will be worth the wait and you will get great news come Monday.
  11. Thanks Crimsoc. I am in London Ontario. Does anyone know how likely it is to get funding if you are 'waitlisted'? I'm thinking not very, but maybe OGS - results for that are still to come and some funding is MUCH better than none!
  12. Mail came - not the results I had hoped for. Waitlisted. I guess that for my first time through I should not be too disappointed. I feel both incredibly sad and relieved the stress of waiting is finally over. Sigh.....
  13. I am anxiously waiting for mail delivery. I e-mailed SSHRC asking about clarification as to the release of details via the online portal. I received an apology that in fact these would not be released this week, in contrast to the information I received in my previous e-mail. I really hope mine comes in the mail. I do not think I can cope with the extremely hopeful highs and desperate lows (that come with absolute certainty that I will not be funded). I need to be out of my misery now. How can I cope through the weekend??? Aggghhhh!!!!
  14. I'm in London Ontario - mail came - no letter. Agony for one more night! Congrats to those who got good news today and best of luck for future apps for those who did not get the news they hoped for.
  15. If they went out late Monday afternoon it is possible that even the students in Ottawa will not receive anything until tomorrow. I am anxiously stalking the online portal. My e-mail said results would be there 'later this week' while it looks like others were told the 'end of the week'. Hopefully by Friday we will all be able to access our results via the portal and the agonizing wait will be over. Sigh.....at this point I just need to be put out of my misery
  16. I joined this forum just to share some news. I just e-mailed SSHRC and this was the response I received: The results of the Doctoral competition were mailed out yesterday afternoon. Per Canada Post standards, you should receive this letter within 10 business days. They will also be posted electronically later on this week. Wooo hoooo!!! Good luck to everyone. This wait has been agony and the next few days are going to be even harder. I have been lurking for awhile and it has been nice to know I am not the only one who has been obsessing!
