Anyone else looking for a place to live in A2 right now? I'm out of state and hoping to go up there next month to look for a place to live. Any ideas on where to look other than the obvious (craigslist) are appreciated. I'm looking for a quiet area not too far from campus (def don't wanna live in Ypsi). What areas are recommended? Will be attending class in the North Quad. I appreciate any help/suggestions!
  2. Going to UMich in Ann Arbor. Stoked! Congrats to all.
  3. secured funding and is going to UMich. :o)

  4. Not a peep... Looks like I'm gonna have to go w/ UT just because out of state tuition is outrageous. I'm not willing to go 40-50k+ in debt for my MLIS.
  5. For UT--I asked about funding earlier this week, and basically received a canned response equating to, "if you had received a funding offer, you would already know about it." For UW--If you received funding, it would have been in your admissions packet. Funding situation is looking bleak.
  6. Did you get any funding? And Jus10--Was the 4k offered to you in your acceptance packet?
  7. I second this. Has anyone heard back regarding funding decisions? My inquiry goes to masters applicants. I have only heard back from UM, and they basically said that they have completed the first round of tuition awards and have notified all recipients (I was not one of them).
  8. Hey guys, Thanks for the help! Now the only problem I'm having is finding the RIGHT person to contact. Obviously, it varies from school to school, but I'm kind of at a loss. Can you recommend a good way to find the proper person to contact? I don't want to contact the wrong person. Edit: I've read through the titles you've mentioned, but I'm not really finding people with those titles.
  9. Hi all, It's official. I've received acceptance to every program I applied to! I'm simply ecstatic. I worked hard on my applications and got them in early, and it has paid off. I wish the best of luck to everyone else who is still waiting. While I am very excited about acceptance, I am still waiting to hear about funding from all schools. Five of the schools I have gotten into are ranked as the best in the country for what I am pursuing (Masters, Library and Information Science). My question is, can I use my acceptances as leverage? I want to inquire about funding without seeming pushy, but obviously funding plays a big part in my decision. What is the best way to inquire about funding? Any help would be much appreciated. April 15 is just around the corner. I've been having a very difficult time sleeping at night thinking about this. I just want to know what's going to happen!
  10. So far, I've been accepted to 5/6 programs I've applied to (waiting to hear from one more... should be any day now), but I haven't heard anything about funding. It's driving me crazy. If I don't receive funding, I will probably have to attend my last choice because the others are just way too expensive without any financial assistance. It's not even a bad school, it's just that their program isn't really tailored for what I want to focus on. It's financially feasible, though, because it's in-state. When is it okay to ask if funding decisions have been made, and what's the best way to word such an inquiry? I don't want to be pushy, but it's getting closer and closer to April 15. I'm on edge!
  11. Wow, okay... Nevermind then. That's kind of ridiculous imo, but whatever. I wouldn't accept either, unless they offered me some kind of funding. I mean, I won't even hear back from two schools until mid-March early April.
  12. I've heard other people say they've asked for deadline extensions (and most schools grant them)... since April 15 is the official courtesy date, or whatever. UT wants me to do something similar, so that's what I'm going to do. Just let them know I'm still weighing my options and waiting to hear back from a few schools, so I'd like more time to make an informed decision. UNC mailed my decision on Monday, and I didn't receive it yesterday, so I'm guessing it'll be here either today or tomorrow.
  13. Yikes! That makes me feel a lot less optimistic. Did anyone here apply to UNC? I've seen two acceptances (one via postal, one via e-mail) pop up on the results search, but I have yet to hear anything. Should I shoot them an e-mail or wait it out?
  14. I applied to six schools (master's): University of Michigan at Ann Arbor (accepted)University of Texas at Austin (accepted)Syracuse University (accepted)University of North Carolina at Chapel HillUniversity of Illinois at Urbana-ChampaignUniversity of Washington at SeattleHave yet to hear anything on funding from accepted schools and have yet to hear anything from the last three schools. Has anyone heard anything on funding yet from any of their schools?
  15. Was this as a master's applicant? Would you be willing to shed any more light on why you decided to withdraw your app, and what exactly the e-mail said? Also, what would be the best way to inquire about funding from schools you've already been accepted to?
