  1. Damn. I'm Chemical and Systems bio.. I guess ill just keep an eye out
  2. Has anyone heard back from Stanford Biosciences and if so, what home program?
  3. Thank you both for the feedback, that definitely makes me feel better about what I have heard from rumors. It definitely seems as though Harvard is a go and get it kind of school, so you have to put the effort in, but I would expect that from any school and am more than willing. Thanks again!!
  4. So I have been lucky enough to be accepted to both Harvard BBS and UCSD Biomedical Science. Obviously, Harvard has a name that anyone would recognize, brilliant research, and a great city but I am worried about the rumors you hear about how cut-throat it is. People keep telling me that there is competition within labs, and people sabotaging work, and I'm not sure I can work like that. On the other hand, while UCSD may not be as "highly" ranked, it still has a lot of research I am interested in, a great city, and I think the possibility of a better quality of life due to a less cut-throat environment and the fact it is always sunny. I guess what I am saying is- can anyone speak to if the rumors are true at Harvard BBS, or if they have chosen between the better academic school or the better quality of life school before, and why the chose how they did?
  5. Not sure if this is the right place to put this question, but I have a quick question about dress codes. Obviously the day with the interviews the dress is business casual, but for the other days that include more of the social events or the tours, is that also business casual, or more just casual while still looking decent? Also, all of them say dress nice but wear comfortable shoes.. which at least for women is a difficult thing to achieve at the same time. Any ideas?
  6. Wisconsin CMB to finish of my universities. Gonna have to end up declining unfortunately. Good luck to all those still waiting and to all those who just got acceptances! Can't wait to meet some of you at these interview weekends!
  7. God I hate waiting. Congrats to everyone who has already heard!!!!!
  8. Anyone know if Harvard BBS sends everything in one shot, or throughout the day?
  9. UCSF BMS!!! For those curious about tracks- my number 1 I put down was tissue/organ biology and endocrinology followed by neurobiology. Hope everyone else finds out soon also!
  10. Having the same problem now. I have my first overlapping interview so I have to take back one of my acceptances to interview.. this is actually stressful
  11. Thanks! Yeah I got a 4 last week which was earlier than the rush, so it looks a bit ahead of the game. Thanks!! Right now the ones I have work out... I know Yale would overlap with Columbia (if I get a call from Yale) so one of those would have to be dropped. Depending on Harvard, UCSF, and Stanford I may have to drop some others, but I didn't want to wait to respond to the ones I had. I also may end up dropping some because a flight every weekend is a bit much...
  12. Ahh I applied Yale MMPP! Fingers crossed for a call soon. Congrats to everyone who has gotten it so far!
  13. No worries! We are all crazy right now (the big decisions coming out this week arent helping!!)
  14. Anyone have an idea as to when Harvard BBS would be having their interview dates? There are some dates on their page but it says 2015.. so I am assuming these are from last year? Also UCSF BBS? Trying to organize my interview schedule! Also congrats to all those who got interviews today!!!!!!
