  1. Thank you! He's one of my advisors and was one of the two people that suggested I apply to NYU in the first place. Very excited.
  2. Pitching in just to say congrats to everyone who had a successful cycle, and hugs and wisdom to those heading back in next year. The attached comic is my favourite, and is precisely what happened to me this cycle. Rejected from Duke and Chicago, wasn't able to get off the waitlist at Columbia, but I ended up getting an offer from NYU so I will be heading there and could not be happier with how everything worked out. Still a little overwhelmed with the idea of NYC, and sad to say goodbye to Canada, but going to work, read, and prep this summer once I've finished my undergraduate thesis.
  3. Anyone else waitlisted for one of their top programs but still invited to the visiting weekend? Can't not take the opportunity but trying to reign in my growing hope of actual acceptance so I don't get crushed. Also congrats admits so far and hearts to those still waiting. We're getting there.
  4. Email from Columbia this morning with choice to be put on a waitlist. I'm elated just with being put on the waitlist honestly. Columbia was my reach PhD program for sure, and I made my peace last week that I probably wouldn't get into a PhD this time around. Trying not to get my hopes up, but going to meet with my POI next week during impromptu holiday to NYC.
  5. Also losing hope for Duke. I haven't heard anything as well, despite being in contact with my POI for almost two years at this point. This is the only rejection that will really crush me, I think. I'm too hesitant to send an email yet.
  6. Thanks for finally making this thread! I am targeting 1-2 PhD's and a handful of funded MA's. Looking at nineteenth century legal history of the US South... focused on criminal law, but also with a heavy interest in penology and military law during the Civil War. Hello cohort!
