  1. For Weill Cornell folks, have any of you received interview schedules yet?
  2. Oh, I was just asking in general terms. Okay, I hope so too. Thanks!
  3. Will we know the list of our faculty interviewers a few days BEFORE traveling/arriving to the school? Or do they give you the schedule right when you land? I really hope it is the former!
  4. Did you get an itinerary for the weill cornell interview? They gave contact info for the travel agency, but i have no idea what time to fly in by and what day/time to leave..
  5. Question: if you haven't gotten an interview or rejection yet from one of your top choice schools (but you know invites already went out), is it alright to call the admissions and try to make your case.. ie. say i've gotten invites into other top tier schools such as X, Y, Z, but am really interested more in this program... or would they just pretty much ignore this?
  6. OMG OMG OMG OMG, YOU ARE RIGHTTTTT! I got an invitation there too!!!!!!!! OMG SO FRIGGIN HAPPY.
  7. congrats!! did she happen to say when official invites would be sent out? i'm so nervous about calling..
  8. curious, did you guys ask stanford immunology or stanford microbiology and immunology?? i'm waiting to hear back from stanford immunology.. microbio/immuno was my second choice area.. thanks
  9. i heard Feb 10-12 is the alternative date for those who can't make Jan 20-22.
  10. For those who have been invited to Weill Cornell visit Jan 20-22: Has anyone gotten word on an alternative interview date? Or has anyone who accepted the Jan 20-22 interview received info on travel arrangements yet?
  11. hehe hopefully there are a lot of us asking, and just for the sheer number of people asking, they'll create a new interview date option that doesn't conflict with any other schools and it'll be greatttt lol one can dream
  12. i just emailed to ask. will update if i hear anything!
  13. I have, but they have not responded yet...
  14. TSRI hopefuls: I know the interview dates for Scripps conflicts with many other top tier schools, like MIT Biology, Stanford Biosciences, etc. Has anyone tried to ask for alternative interview dates for Scripps successfully? Also, does anyone know when MIT Biology will send out invites? I know Stanford's will probably come out after the new year.. Gosh, scheduling is such a nightmare.
  15. I have the same problem... Just FYI, UCLA is pretty unaccommodating when it comes to alternative interview dates. Which one would you drop if you had no choice?
  16. this school is totally unable/unwilling to accommodate alternate interview dates and not allowing partial attendance of the interview weekend. i tried, but they are so strict and it seems like they don't care either. they don't understand that i can't just cancel on my other confirmed interviews. so frustrating
  17. I have sent an email to the school to ask whether it is okay to miss the last day (which looks like it consists mostly of housing tours, so i'd be okay with that)
  18. aghhhhh, this school does not accommodate alternate interview options... it's either the established interview weekends or nothing
  19. I'm in a similar position... is it really alright to just attend part of the interview weekend (like just the day with the 1:1 faculty interviews) and leave right after that to go to another school's interview? does anyone have experience with doing that?
  20. Thanks for the advice guys. Yeah, I don't want/intend to be rude to School A. It's just that School B is one of my top choices, and I don't want to "hurt" my chances of getting in by not being able to make the full interview weekend (ie. by having an interview at a later date etc). How do schools take to being asked for an alternative interview date? Does it put you at a disadvantage in any way?
  21. or should I just ask SCHOOL B for alternative interview dates?
  22. okay, i have an interview scheduling dilemma... i had rsvp'd to an interview for SCHOOL A, then received another interview from SCHOOL B (i have greater interest in SCHOOL B's program) that conflicts with SCHOOL A. i am local for SCHOOL A, so they wouldn't have to spend money on travel/lodging for me, whereas SCHOOL B would have to. what do you guys think about asking SCHOOL A to reschedule the interview for another time? i was thinking it *might* be okay because i am local anyways and can pop in any time? adviceeeeeeee please, thanks!
  23. i saved up a lot of vacation time at work, so not worried about that part. i'm just worried i'll be exhausted by the end of february for those schools that have interviews then and in early march.
  24. for those who've gotten multiple interviews (like 5-6+), are you planning to go to all of them? schedule looks so crazy.
