Thanks. You're very kind. I've been talking with a fellow from Cornell via PM. Our portfolios are almost identical with the exception that he did his UG there and his MA at Penn. So he knows people in the program and already has an MA. I really think it has to do with my esoteric research interests at this point, since I know it's not my grades or scores.
