Orgo for days

Got a call from a POI at UCLA today, quite excited!

I would apply to at least some of those extra schools just in case--they are respected as being good schools too. As you definitely know, it's harder to get in as an international student, and your lack of research further hurts this. That being said, you will obviously stand out as a very intelligent applicant, even if less experienced, so I'm sure many programs will jump at you too. It's never a bad idea to apply to more tho.

A few graduate students have quit my program as well, and depression rate for my lab was at 70% until the new first years joined. Terrifying at the very least. You've managed to get this far, so props to you, although its probably getting even more difficult.

Congrats man, UM is an especially great school! Looks like you've got plenty of acceptances already.

I have typed in "chemistry berkeley," for example, and it shows results from only previous years, indicating that either no one has heard back or that no one who has heard back has entered their information in. Also, from looking over the last few years for a handful of schools, it seems that most people hear back mid-late January, so still a decent chunk of time left to wait for most of us.
