  1. It seems like Davis is also out last week ...?
  2. Michigan sociology is out. So I won't be surprised if Rackham Graduate School sends out PSC decisions today as well
  3. Also weird that the rejections were out around 2am in California...
  4. I really wish to get an offer today, after being rejected by Berkeley, and hearing nothing from Duke and Chicago (which = rejections) ... Hopefully I can get in UCSD!
  5. Does UCSD usually release acceptances later than rejections? (http://thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=political+science+UCSD&t=a&o=&pp=25) Also, do you guys get an email from UCSD? Does the status on the website change? Thank you
  6. I haven't heard anything from UCSD. Is it a good sign?
  7. It seems like UCSD and WashU will wait until tomorrow or next week ;(
  8. pizzacat, The date on the website is the date that the committee is aiming for. However, the progress can be delayed for various reasons. But I won't be surprised to hear from Michigan either this week or next week, since the committee was initially aiming for 2/5 this year (at least according to the website). I will PM you if I hear something.
  9. Usually, Michigan will send out the roster to the department (including grad students) before they notify the applicants. I have talked to someone on the listserv and he said he hasn't heard anything re: grad admissions so far.
  10. In the letter, some programs would include the # of applicants and size of the cohort. And yes, you did not sound like a jerk
  11. Do you know the rough percentage of the rejects who eventually got admitted to MAPSS? Also, congrats on NYU!
  12. Do you know if the recommendation for MAPSS/CIR is selective? Do most Ph.D. rejects get the MAPSS/CIR offer?
  13. If you don't get the offer on the day when most people do, you are out. The chance that someone declining the offer right away and the committee getting your name from WL to acceptance list at the same time is minimal. Take Berkeley this year as the example. You can also see this trend re. Duke and Chicago from pervious years.
  14. Hope I can hear some good news from UCSD today...
  15. I also feel that UCSD, Michigan, and WashU are likely to announce their decisions today. Hopefully today can be a better day than yesterday
  16. Not many Berkeley admits posted on the survey page last year either. So I assume Berkeley has already sent out all the offers (hopefully I am wrong). I agree that international students are facing more competition, however, I also doubt if the funding for intl students is retracted so that Berkeley can't admit any intl students, as someone else said earlier. Hopefully we can hear some good news from Berkeley tomorrow!
  17. Hopefully there is another wave of emails from Berkeley later.
  18. There is another one. I think Duke has already sent out all the offers and it's only a matter of time for people to either 1) check the emails, or 2) post the result on the survey page. There might be a short list of people who might get notified of acceptance if someone rejects the offer right away -- but the chance is low. Does this observation/hypothesis sound right?
  19. Duke acceptances were all sent out at once in the past few years, right?
  20. Love this discussion. However, on a side note, when are schools going to release their results during this "big week"? ... ;( Any insider information?
