Berkeley's rejection felt especially awful to me too, though when you look at how few students they accept and the paid tuition, I guess it makes sense. Good luck with your RISD interview. I am applying to Digital Media there, and I am not sure if they contacted anyone yet.

I am feeling very similar to you! I have gotten a lot of rejections so far, and it has been really stressful. My undergrad is not even in a field close to art, and I made my application portfolio in literally 7 months after working in a completely unrelated field for years. I feel really self-conscious about my work and applications too. I have been rejected so far from: cranbrook, cmu, ucsd, berkeley, calarts. I had interviews with SFAI, UCSC, CCA, and am very happy I got accepted into CCA. I had three rejections before I got an acceptance, and I felt really terrible up until then (and the rejections still feel pretty bad). I was convinced I was going to have to reapply next year. I'm also still waiting to hear from UCLA, RISD, and San Jose State.

I got a rejection letter from cranbrook today for painting, which is not a big surprise.

I just got an email about doing an interview with UCSC. Their MFA program is only 2 years old and solely does digital and new media, which is interesting. Does anyone have any input on what it would be like to go to such a young program?

I am in the same boat. My living situation is a complete disaster, but I can't move until I know where I am going to be this fall! It is adding a whole other layer of anxiety to this whole process. I got into one school I really like already (CCA), but it's so expensive! It's all combined making me feel like I am going crazy.

I got a rejection letter in the mail from carnegie mellon today...very sad since I really was excited about that school, but I know they only take a really small number of students each year.

That's strange! I did my CCA interview a couple weeks go. Good luck with yours! Seems like things are going super well for you already. My UCLA admission status page also says they haven't received anything.

I haven't heard anything yet, and their website says they do interviews, I think.

Nobody else applying to RISD Digital Media? I talked to someone with CMU about visiting, and they said they are mailing letters this week. I really would love to get in there. They have amazing art, CS, HCI, engineering all in one place which would be perfect for me, but their program is so small!

It's true, I called CCA today to double check because I feel so paranoid.

I called and double checked about my online admission status with CCA, and I have been indeed accepted! I'm so happy, it's my first acceptance! I applied to MFA interdisciplinary, and they said they are going to send out actual letters next week. You should be able to see your decision status online, but I don't know if they did photo yet.

search your inbox for "CCA application received" or "CCA webadvisor". That email has a login and password to get into webadvisor, and you can see your admission status there.

I hope it is, and that they are just disorganized with their letters!! I know in their email they said we should log into webadvisor to check admission status. I emailed them today to double check, but haven't heard back.

Thank you! I hope it is for real! I have had three straight rejections so far, including one today from CalArts. Search your inbox for "CCA application received" or for "webadvisor". There should be a login and password to get into webadvisor from the confirmation email when you submitted your application.

Art and Technology. I still haven't heard anything, I'm assuming bad news. I think I might need more time to work on my portfolio for next time.

I had my interview last week on Wed for CCA Interdisciplinary/New Genres. My interviewer said he thought they were going to make decisions on Saturday but that he didn't know when they would get back to us. I thought my interview went pretty badly, so I don't feel too hopeful! I also haven't gotten any news from CalArts, which makes me sad, I know lots of people got their interview letters from there already too. I am also going crazy waiting!!!
