Applied to 5 schools last fall, didn't go anywhere. Applying to 10 schools in the US- 3 stretch,4 reach,3 safe and 1 school in the UK.Its gonna be a little rough on my pocket, but I'll be doubly happy if I get into the stretch(requires a miracle) or the reach school!
Ok,I took the GRE and scored 580V(80%tile) 630Q(56 %tile) with a AWA score of 3.0.
I know the AWA is low,Im a Bio major, does it really hurt my chances when applying to some decent schools?
I have 3 years of lab research and a research publication apart from poster presentations etc.
Im gonna have some stellar recommendations and working on a good statement.
Can I go ahead and apply for some stretch schools like Sloan-Kettering and NWU?Your thoughts folks?
Oh man! that sucks, but wouldn't the grad school shoot you an e-mail regarding the same? Did you get to check your application online where it would notify you that your application is incomplete and is missing two references?
I had to wait a month on one of my professors to post his recommendation, but he eventually did it.
Sometimes it makes me think how worthwhile it is to call up the grad coordinators regarding the application. I have a couple of them act as though they work for the CIA or some secret organization shrouded in secrecy!!!
"We cannot give any information regarding your application...You will be notified via our HIGH grade ENCRYPTED e-mail if an admission decision has been rendered to your application" lol
In spite of it all, with my curiosity getting the better of me...I'm gonna call the schools yet again, for the nth time asking about my application!I really hope there I get something positive out of it. Fingers Crossed!
