"Pedigree" definitely maters from what I have seen. My boss, at my Masters' school, has her BS from MIT and PhD from Harvard.This one time, one of the proposal reviews from the NIH said " impressive pedigree" referring to her educational background and my boss had a laugh about it saying they have reduced her to a mutt's life!!! P.S: She got the grant!!!

Hang in there man,you will end up with an admit eventually. I got my first reject yesterday, more to follow in a while.I'm sure everything will work out for the good, All's well that ends well

WooHoooo! I got my first rejection yesterday,called the Northwestern IGP office and I was informed that I haven't been selected for the interviews which in turn meant rejection. Later yesterday,I received a generic e-mail informing me the same. Nothing out of the blue,just as expected.That leaves me with 6 more schools to go.

I'm into drug design bullshit,so that allows me to continue with research forever!I guess I will go post-docing..hopping from one university to another:)

I will really be glad if I get one acceptance!!! I can't wait till April 15th, it is getting painstakingly agonizing already. fuck! I should have stayed at my old school,had a wonderful boss and really good research going on @Hermes: I wonder how many results posted in that section are genuine and accurate. I have noticed that some ppl post results with discrepancies in the dates.And fuck UCLA, they act so elitist the snooty bastards.

One school(top choice) has its interview schedule up on its website and there were two rounds of interviews,I did not get an e-mail or any kind of notification for it. Potential Bad Sign. However, there is one more round of interview and like you mentioned the wait-list, so I'm mustering all my hopes up . And as far as the acceptances go, I haven't come across folks talking about any acceptance from this department. Well, I guess I will have to wait it out and keep my fingers crossed!

The programs I had applied to had deadlines Dec 15th through Feb 1st. I haven't heard anything from any of the schools yet except that my applications are complete and that they will be reviewed soon!!!! I e-mailed the December deadline schools and...they went unanswered. I dont quite know what else to do but this is kinda getting boring.

Hi All, I havent received any acceptance or interview calls (thankfully, no rejects either) from any of the 7 universities I have applied to. I have been following the topics for quite sometime now,especially the "result search",looking at everything that's been happening should I start worrying?lol A lil background...I am an international,got my MS from the US.Screwed up the GRE,you see I am a lousy test taker , got 3 years of research experience with 2 publications in preparation and a decent enough GPA. I applied to some of decent schools although my GRE might be a deterrent 'cos my advisor pushed me to apply. Any thoughts will be appreciated.
