I think stipends are not tagged with COL as reflected by living wage ratio on that website. It gives one a good estimate what one is getting him/her self into because five years is a very long time. And considering financial details are very important and should be incorporated in decision making because living five years being financially stressed would be horrible!

How likely do you think it is that a university say american releases it acceptances for PhD program and it doesnt get updates on results survey page because none of the 10 or 15 guys follow the survey page or dont feel appropriate doing it?

Admissions are on rolling basis in MA. So, you shouldn't worry!

Thanks God i found someone to talk this about. I applied to Public Pol/Adm. Got told at 12th feb, acceptances will go out in ten days. Emailed ast week to check and got replied file under consideration and review process is ongoing!

You got accepted at all the British universities including the LSE of course. But three american universities viewed your file differently. If you dont mind shedding some light on what may be the reason, it would highlight some important differences in how american and british universities differ in viewing applicants! Are your research interests deeply focused on eupore?

Good to know that you still got a bird in the bush :-) Since you are in DC and you applied to american Pol Sci as well, i am still waiting to hear from American Public administration Phd. No word on it. Its dealt by same SPA department that administers Pol Sci. No results on Survey page (Accept reject both) and when i contacted them on 12 February they told me that they were expecting to extend offers in Ten days. Then i got email from their graduate department asking me stuff regarding degree scrolls and all. It made me happy that i have made it till the last of review process. Then it went all quite. Its been three weeks since. I am apprehensive because i really want to make it. I tracked their result release dates for last five years at results survey page. Since last two years they have been releasing in last week of February But before that, for few years, as long as i could go back, they have been releasing in second week of march. Lets see how it pans out. Anyone here who applied to American SPA doctoral programs? Also, i know for fact that other two programs administered by SPA (Political science & Justice) both have released result. I dont know what to make of this information, too scattered to reach a reasonable conculsion if my application has reached the trash bin or its fighting its heart out like candle in the wind. And that my last application!!!

Hi Sbrail since u have applied in american, and pol sci PHD is dealt by SPA department, can you please tell me if their public administration PhD results are out yet or not?

I need input from you guys. What are the prospects of receiving a PhD in Pubic policy/Affairs/Admin from average university say not in top 50 in US. What kind of jobs can it get you (not strictly academic jobs). Do you see it worth it on its own? What if ones reasons are pretty ideological as opposed to pragmatic? And factors that one is considering are pursuit of happiness and freedom from current trajectory of life/place? I know it all sounds too weird but still it'd help me a long way! You get to learn and have good time learning stuff and you can maybe drift and live not according to a plan. Maybe just without a fallback. Not locking in the options and thinking through before doing what one is doing. Just aesthetic appreciation of life. Would it ever make sense?

No. I appied there. I am in contact with Sally Helms- their doctoral program coordinator. The blizzard delayed their consideration process this year. It started on 22-Feb. Expect to listen from them in between mid to late march. Did you apply for masters there or PhD? I am talking about Maryland-Baltimore county not college park!

Hello Can somebody inform if PhD public administration decisions of American university are out yet or not. No info regarding the same on results survey page, however, PhD political science and PhD Justice & Law admissions are out which are also dealt by SPA.
