  1. Hello- You had a good cycle. I'd appreciate an opportunity to read your SoP.
  2. Since research fit and stipend is comparable, it comes down to city, weather and cost of living i guess.
  3. Boulder is out. Waitlist coming out on 15th march!
  4. Just read about Trailer Park boys. Got to check it out, seems interesting. I didn't know about this series.
  5. Hello Bubandis, hope you are doing great. Dont mean any disrespect, but just wanted to ask you, where did you get the idea for that name from? And that name goes really well with the DP! Just want to pay my complements, as it always cracks me up!
  6. Use the same cryptic language that they use in rejection letters to us. "I am Springwheel and i am afraid that i am approaching you with not a bad news. I had an unusually large number of great admissions this year and in my choice to decide another school i took into consideration a large number of factors. Those factors included, but were not limited to, school reputation, placement record, prized faculty, graduate assistantship, weather, proximity to home, nightlife, price of booze and mary jane, number of POPO's per thousand residents in the city (the lesser the better) and strip bars. I wish your school good luck for your educational aspirations and producing tenure-track research maniac professors for a long time to come. I must tell you that i gave your school a thorough review before reaching any conclusion." Best Springwheel Dont forget to sign the letter.
  7. No update there. I talked to program director. He told me to expect it between mid to ate feb. Its about time.
  8. Does one use his app.yourself portal used & PW to log into SIS? I have no idea how it works. Please enlighten. My Username & PW of app.yourself doesn't work there.
  9. I dont think that PhD Public poicy and administration is dealt by American SIS. I dont have an account on it either. I have that generic app.yourself account for PhD public admin/policy.
  10. Hi, Anyone here who got admitted to Colorado Boulder but doesn't intent to go there. Has Colorado boulder given some deadline by which the accepted candidates are supposed to confirm their acceptance. What is it, if anybody doesn't mind sharing? I see some forum members' signature with multiple accepts and some universities are definitely far better than Colorado. And the randomness of the process is mind boggling. Some people get accepted at far better universities but some above average universities doesn't offer them admission.
  11. (Apologies for irrelevance) Any information regarding Syracuse, American & Arizona Public policy/Admin decisions. I'd appreciate some info on that.
  12. Funding table includes Living allowance and fee remission both? Maybe its just for fee and there are no fees after two years. The best deal is to call them up on it, the program co-coordinator.
  13. Its just like what we do to them. A PhD aspirant generally applies, on average in 9 programs. Of those nine, 3 are reach, 3 are best fits, 3 are safeties.
  14. Yaar i think PhD visa is easier. Are you applying for programs in USA? I have a question. Do you know if one needs financial statement even if gets fee remission and a living stipend?
  15. Hahahahaha so glad man. Hows your stuff holding up? Applications and etc?
  16. Hows your applications holding up? Accepts, waitlists, rejects wise.
  17. Where are you from? Sounds like pakistan. Hahahaha. Anyways, lets shake on "Pineapple".
  18. Hi David What would say about PhD policy/Admin admissions. Does experience weigh in favorably there as well? The point in my mind is, quantitative aspect and research methodology is repetitively fresh in your mind but after experience for say couple of years, you have to start all over again. What do you say about that?
  19. Totally agree. Pubic affairs/admin/policy is far more broad in focus than pol sci as far as job market goes. What is in your mind when you say so, it would be interesting to learn new perspectives. My interests are multi-lateral institutions, state and country level watchdogs and regulatory boards, international aid and development like CIDA, OXFAM, Transparency international and such. And i find objective focused research to me more interesting than theoretical research anyway. So, over to you.
  20. USC as in south Carolina or southern California?
  21. Are you applying to PhD polsci programs with public policy/admin specialization? I am. If not, they why?
