Hi, a bit late in the day. Do we have our own results survey page? I have been trailing on political science cycle 2016 page. Just found this page. Feels like home. I am applying for PhD in public policy/Government/Pubic Admin cum affairs doctoral programs. 1. International Aid/Development/Governance 2. Havent narrowed down, applying to 16-17 programs 3. Used filters like test scores and prior research preference for universities and skipped universities very high on them because my strengths are econ, psychology undergrad, business admin masters and 6 years at central banking in banking policy and regulation. (No research or previous study background in pol sci). And GRE coz I am 156 Q, 161 V & 4.0 AWA. 107 TOEFL.

Cats die after coming out of the box as well. My first and only probable acceptance got converted to waitlist after i blasted the interview by getting late for 40 minutes because i was unwell and couldn't get up on time and time difference between CST and PST is 12 hours and interview was scheduled at 3 a.m in the morning. So, i had a 40 minutes sleep at cost of, say what, my future???? Thats the silliest thing which would come to haunt me for a long long long time to come.

Lets kill the damn cat. I am getting tired of it. Its becoming a case of enough rope with each passing day.

Got the same reply from Colorado boulder. Didn't get rejection but initial acceptances are out. Neither got confirmation for wait-list. Now trying to interpolate my chances with snippets of irrelevant information which is a total exercise in futility with only possible use of jogging my brain a bit.

I was to know this: How doctoral programs in PhD compare to Public policy/admin/affairs programs as far as admission difficulty and process goes. Difference in areas of emphasis, job experience, academic background (Coz these are more diffused and interdisciplinary than political science), standardized test scores? Any reflections?

Your view on this: If one's application is missing only a referees recommendation, then would university send you a reminder to complete it or would go ahead and make their admission just the same?

Some thoughts on how to bullwhip a referee who isnt working as hard as you would want them too, even after you obtained prior consent from them? Why people are the way they are. My damn referee didnt submit letter till now at GW. Why did i waste 100 dollars, i regret it.

Why this particular discipline? Statistical background? Willing to prepare further for statistical training on your own time before joining. Etc. Modern political developments. Price discovery for government services and questions like these.
