Quick question: I was accepted to a program a few weeks ago and I never heard from my POI. Is that weird? Should I email him? I'm leaning towards accepting this offer, but I'm not really sure what to do.

Okay, if I have heard nothing from UCLA, is it time to admit defeat? I'm already into my second choice program and the waiting is getting really annoying.

I've heard back from most of my programs except for UCLA and USCB, and i wish they would notify so that I can begin the decision making process! Waiting is infuriating!!!

@wluhopeful @stillalivetui i am applying too! I recently got into one of my top programs, so i'm not sure i would go, but my interests are in the history of psychiatry/women's medicine, specifically in 19th and 20th century Britain and the colonies.

Is anyone else low-key freaking out about Santa Barbara? I have a really good connection with a POI there, and I'm really worried that I haven't heard anything from her.

Congrats to the William and Mary applicant!!! It's such an amazing program!! I have no idea if you would know this, but did they say if they had notified everyone all ready (i.e. should I lose hope yet)?

It's just a tough time to apply. Even if you do get in, without funding, you can't even really attend without mountains of un-payable loans. I guess we will all know in the next few weeks?

I've had two rejections (honestly a little relieved about berkeley because it was definitely not a good fit), but I'm still waiting on eight schools...starting to be afraid that i'm about to have 10 solid rejections this season. Hopefully some good news will come soon!

hi everyone! this is so unrelated, but a program told me last Thursday that I would be notified "early next week" and I cannot stop checking my email. Does anyone have suggestions for ways to stop obsessing about this? I'm refreshing my inbox literally every two minutes. On an even more unrelated note, congratulations on all the interviews and acceptances everyone!!! And to everyone else: I hope you hear good news soon!!!

Thank you! It's tough because they only take two students, but we'll see! I didn't speak with Portuondo, but I talked to about 7 HoM professors and they were all really great.

I emailed a few POIs to tell them about an internship that I just got (I have a pretty good relationship with all of them), and they were really grateful for the information. If you feel comfortable/have talked with them before, I certainly don't think it would hurt to keep them updated?

If anyone is applying to history of medicine/science at Johns Hopkins, I interviewed today and they said their results would be out sometime around the end of January or first week of Feb.

I have no idea how competitive they are...I would guess about the same as most history phd programs. They definitely aren't easier to get into, unfortunately.
