Did anyone (except HHMI applicants) who had interviews at U Penn Bioengineering hear anything yet? It's been like 3 weeks since the second interview weekend and they were saying the results would be sent out in max 2 weeks.

I got the same notification and asked the program admin if there was any funding available. She said no funding was available for the MS.

Have all interview invites been sent out by now?

I e-mailed the admin and she said I will hear from them by this Friday at latest.

There is already a separate topic for MIT CSB, but I wanted to ask this question here too. There were a couple of interview invites in the survey earlier, and it seems like a lot of pre-interview rejections were sent out last Friday. However, I received neither an interview invite nor a rejection from them so far. Any ideas on what might be going on?

Sorry to hear that... But good luck with your other interviews! Was the rejection e-mail a mass e-mail? Friday is over too but I still haven't heard anything from them. That's really weird...

I didn't hear anything either... There seems to be only one post yet, whereas there were multiple people posting around the same time for other MIT programs. Maybe they haven't sent a mass invite e-mail. Based on past data, CSBi sends out pre-interview rejections about the same time as the interviews, so at least we'll have a definite result by the end of this week either ways.

Well, although the term gives the impression of brain simulations, neuromorphic chips etc. a little bit, the group in MIT is huge on developing novel tools for faster recording from brain like new microscopy techniques, automated patch clamp recordings etc. and better stimulation of neurons. What kind of reaearch do you want to get into in grad school?

Oh, I didn't pay attention to that. Also people were saying that post-interview acceptance rate is very high in MIT BE. Do you think it would be the same for CSB? Is there any current CSB students in the forum who can give us some idea about it?

Yeah, I feel like we will hear from CSB soon (probably next week). Apparently no one else has heard from them either. Also it seems like MIT sends out the invites for a program all at once.
